Ukip has collapsed in the polls and faces the loss of almost every council seat it won four years ago.

With the results still coming in, the Brexit cheerleaders have already lost 86 of the 166 seats they won last time.

Ukip is currently on just two seats - one of which is a gain in Derby in defiance of the nationwide performance.

May 1 2018 - Ukip’s new leader, Gerard Batten, has reiterated his intention to move the party towards the hard right by urging people to read the Qur’an so they can “educate” themselves about the threat posed by Islam.

If Europe lets socialists take over the land and people we fought and died for as a nation, then screw them. If they let smarmy moronic pseudo intellectual a**ho**s define their future, then they aren’t worth fighter before or beside ever again.

Soros trying everything he can to jettison BREXIT. I am disappointed Soros hasn’t died of lead poisoning. It’s obvious God has no intention of taking him as evil tends to live a long time on this Earth.

I was afraid this would be the outcome if adequate approval were stretched out for several years.
Maybe the Brexit fans can remind people of what they have to lose by remaining. Just like in the States, only a small percentage of citizens are really paying attention, vs parroting what their friends are saying.

The UK has a deep-state, too. They are walking Brexit as slowly and lightly as possible until another referendum offers the chance to rejoin.

People have seen the future the liberals offer and it really, really sucks. The price for rejecting liberals’ utopia is that it is very, very hard to disengage from their plans. It’s that way by design. Socialism necessarily involves entrapment because their plan requires slaves.

You need exceptional national leadership to move something this radical from an idea to final implementation.

Nigel Farage was as close as they got. Farage is a brilliant polemicist and a born fighter, but he did not have the organization skills and the basic political skills that were necessary to guide this decision after the election.

At any rate, Farage resigned as UKIP leader just a few weeks after the Brexit victory, as I recall.

The final nail in the coffin is Prime Minister May, who lacks the passion and the conviction to get anything done, Brexit included.

If it was an ad hoc movement, once it achieved its aims the people who supported it will revert back to a party with more relevant national goals and ambitions. I don’t know what UKIP even stands for as an acronym, but people don’t spend a life voting on foreign entanglements. UKIP made its point with the EU vote. It didn’t transition to any meaningful domestic policy that the voters could support long term.

This generally happens in any 2-party country (US, UK, France et al), if a 3rd party rises to enough strength in the polls to determine the outcome then one of the 2 major parties simply usurps (or steals) its thunder by incorporating those idea that make the 3rd party popular as their own. Doesn’t mean they will actually follow through with those ideas. Some countries with Parliamentary systems do have more than 3 parties in their legislature but often the 3rd party gains just enough power to matter at one critical point in time.

>>>Is BREXIT still in effect?

It’s still a go for March 2019, though negotiations continue to be hung up on the question of what to do with the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The big parties always go after the little ones and its worth noting that the “Daily Mail” and other big newspapers in the UK like the “Times”, “Telegraph” and so on promote the Conservative Party of Theresa May and destroy all enemies or threats like UKIP with smear pieces and hit pieces.

UKIP didn’t stand just for BREXIT. They were also the only party actively speaking out against unlimited immigration (especially muzzies of course).

Guess the voters don’t mind being overrun by third world savages all that much after all.
