Socialism: Bernie Sanders’ job guarantee proposal doesn’t add up

The notion of a “job guarantee” in America, once appropriately seen as a fringe idea lacking credibility, is growing in popularity among the Democratic Party.

Last week, the Washington Post reported that Democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont is crafting a proposal in which the federal government would guarantee a job that pays $15 an hour plus health insurance to any American “who wants or needs one.”

The plan, which Sanders hasn’t figured out how to fund yet, would call for the creation of hundreds of government projects throughout the country in fields ranging from infrastructure to caregiving in order to be able to guarantee a job to all American workers.

Two potential 2020 presidential candidates, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-New York, and Sen. Cory Booker, D-New Jersey, have lent their support to the idea, with the latter proposing a pilot program in 15 localities to see if the scheme can work.

This nutcase socialist hippie, who never had a real job in his life, is floating the socialist balloon again. Giving away America's freedom, capitalist culture and founding for give-away socialism to buy the presidency. The frightening part is how many mindless voters would support such a disastrous idea.

Venezuela North???

How long until citizens are required to have a (govt.) job?

Of course it doesn’t add up - it never does. But socialists promote their schemes anyway.

Not only did the Finnish government recently conclude that their basic income guarantee experiment has failed, but patriots are reminded the the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated the unconstitutionally big, post-17th Amendment ratification federal government the specific power to tax and spend for such a program.

Patriots need to work with their state lawmakers to support Pres. Trump in leading the states to repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.

When I take 15 and hour a multiply by 2000 hours a year and multiply by 300 million people, I get a cost of 9 trillion dollars.

But....think of the revenue from the income taxes (@90%). That’s how the Russkies financed it.

$31,000 for a 5 day work week + insurance
brings it to about 40k. How the hell will this be paid for? Wealth sharing, of course.

"fields ranging from infrastructure to care-giving in order to be able to guarantee a job to all American workers."

People with no skills making $15.00 / hr can't contribute to the improvement of infrastructure. All they know how to do is show up late for work, go to lunch and not com back until the next day(late of course).

As far as care-giving is concerned, I would not trust these folks with a goldfish.

I am willing to bet that he hasn't even figured out what it will cost yet.

Yet I will not be at all surprised when this country actually tries it.

C’mon Burn-knee, you can do better than that! Fifteen dollars an hour? Jeez- whizz, at least you could make it $50/hour!

I’m sure that Bill (MicroSuck) Gates, Jeff Beelzebub, Suckerbug and Schwartz Gyorgy will all be more than happy to sell all of their assets to help achieve such a goal!
...or not...

Maybe Bernie can point out all the successful communist/socialist countries... countries where the people are free AND prosperous.

And no, Sweden is moving away from most of their give away stuff... doesn’t work as well in multicultural settings.
