Your pretty much ON POINT!
Hey! How about Sessions try operating on 'Mueller time' and start changing some folks like Mueller has... or, is Mueller actually running a sitcom?
In one way, he is running a sitcom. Murder is simple. White collar crime is a bitch. And the very last thing you want the suspects to do is warm up their industrial-sized shredding machines, and lawyering up. You also don’t want, if you’re ethical and you’re investigating people who are not in the least, to do any public revelations in an election year. That’s why, I’m guessing, Sessions is doing nothing at this time to make the swampies feel threatened. So they don’t start destroying evidence and reaching for their lawyers. Better to have them on talk shows and press interviews, making statements that will later hang them. And to wait ‘til after the 2018 election to let the public finally see criminal charges, so they can’t say he was showing how partisan he is by queering the election results, as Hillary accused Comey, incredibly, in 2016. I can understand he doesn’t want to do special prosecutors. He can’t control a special prosecutor once he gets started. My guess is that he’s quietly slipping their nuts into a vice and doesn’t want them catching on ‘til it’s too late.
Ugh, so Sessions’ idea of ‘needs to conclude’ is (May - October) another half a year. What an abysmal poverty of ‘needs to conclude’ that is.
Wheels of justice grind slowly but thoroughly.
Sessions gives every impression of being a #Nevertrump shill.....worthless (or much worse)
And as I said in #143, that impression is deliberate. In fact, freepers roundly cursing him out completes the subterfuge. So have at it.
So outrageous it has been that he allowed an underling to sign off on a raid of Trump's lawyer. This is rubbing his nose in their fetid attack on our Republic.
'Looking into' and 'waiting for' while all these massive affronts unfold is way... way too wimp for even the timid. If this were a shootin' war overseas, Sessions would have been sent back to the states in disgrace.
Justice is not delayed in this case. You want a McJusticeburger with fries and a shake, and he’s trying to serve a gourmet meal of justice.
Yes, the Mueller/Rosenstein cabal is overstepping the bounds of legal propriety, and with a little more rope, the time will be ripe for them to hang themselves. Public opinion is already trending against them. Patience ‘til after the election, when they will know that they will not be able to impeach.
Amid the cacaphony of leftard head explosions, as the new Congress is sworn in, the indictments will fall like April rain, and the coup degras, the plea bargains in exchange for testimony, will go unnoticed and unremarked, not with a bang but a whimper. When Hillary hangs herself rather than go to jail, at that point what difference will it make;-}
If he wants the prosecutions to come later... well, okay... let the wheels grind. But there is no excuse for Rosenstein to continue in his position and no reason for the special council to continue. He can remove them and then let a grand jury work out the charges.
Sessions can defend not doing his job. I’d rather he defend having done his job.
“But there is no excuse for Rosenstein to continue in his position and no reason for the special council to continue. He can remove them...”
There is a political reason to let them continue. Removing them would be an act of political suicide for Trump, even if he would claim that he acted on his own without even talking to Trump. They managed to pull off an outrageous act in the SDNY that will probably benefit their agenda not at all, and is throwing public support for them in the toilet. All that needs doing is let that run its course until the elections are over, and the public has had a chance to express their outrage at the voting booths. There will be no blue wave. There will be a blue flush. When the Mueller investigation is finally ended, nobody will notice or care, and Mueller and Rosenstein will be the leftard equivalents of Ken Starr. Prosecutions can begin after the elections, and should remain low key.
The Possum stirs.
Had Sessions done this early on he could have later pointed to the Congressional finding of 'no collusion' and put the entire thing to rest. Didn't do it. Here we are.
We have historical precedent that suggests that that’s an optimistic but unlikely scenario. One word: Cox. They would claim that Trump instructed Sessions to dismiss Rosenstein. The House Intelligence Committee’s findings have a dissenting opinion attached to them, and it can be spun as a partisan document.
Best to just let it alone. The swamp is self-draining, because the principle actors here are discrediting themselves. The SDNY has issued a warrant for a fishing expedition in outright disregard of the attorney-client privilege, and arguably without any probable cause. Politically, this is backfiring. Firing Rosenstein or Mueller, even through Sessions, could reverse this politically, just as firing Cox reversed Nixon’s political fortunes, even though Robert Bork did the actual firing.
That doesn't give Mueller 6 months. So, you're saying that Mueller should spit in Sessions eye just because he has been doing just that for over a year now.
Ugh... maybe Meuller will. Sessions has been toothless so far.
