I knew lots of pot heads back in the 60s-70s. Marijuana can be psychologically addicting. But it is not physically addictive. The opioids that doctors seem to be dispensing like candy are. I dont condone normal marijuana use but controlled in strength and dispensed in a non smoking form for people with chronic pain could be a way to go.

Marijuana most certainly is addicting.
I cant help but wonder if at least some portion of the opioid epidemic is due to the push to legalize marijuana.

I guess I don't go to the dr. enough because mine has never given away opiates “ like candy”.. Any facts to support opiates being dispensed “ like candy’ or are you propagating a rumor you heard? Its the street drugs that are the problem, and a few folks being caught with prescription drugs that aren't their own and a few unscrupulous MD’s given the rest of the world a bad impression. As for marijuana helping with pain I admit IDK, never tried it for pain. is it a gateway drug? so is coffee, I want a cigarette with every cup or with every beer, but I don't want dope with my cigarette or anything else.

Well I’ll soon know as I see A Dr. tomorrow about the use of cannabidiol oil and forms of CBD’S for pain. Which though taken from the plant it does not contain any THC, which is the psychoactive component of marijuana that makes users ‘high’.
I’ve been researching this for weeks now so it’s going to be interesting.
