The Hidden Bombshell in the McCabe Report
RCP Commentary ^ | 4-23-2018 | Charles Lipson

Posted on 04/23/2018 1:52:12 PM PDT by Sir Napsalot

The news reports have all focused on the FBI’s second-in-command leaking information to the Wall Street Journal – or authorizing subordinates to do so -- and then lying to investigators about it. This is big news, provided that account is borne out by a subsequent criminal indictment and successful prosecution.

(snip)

.... one of his presumably truthful comments about the Department of Justice may be even more significant. He said flatly that during the last months of the Obama administration, high-ranking Justice Department officials tried to kill the FBI’s on-going investigation into the Clinton Foundation. .....

The 35-page report goes on to say that, by leaking that conversation, McCabe was trying “to make himself look good by making senior department leadership, specifically the Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General, look bad,” Well, yeah.

The same logic should apply to the misappropriated, classified memos James Comey leaked through his friend at Columbia Law School. Comey has said they were meant to force the appointment of a special counsel.

Those leaks do make senior law-enforcement leaders look bad. Actually, they make them look politically corrupt. The Horowitz report does not dispute that the DOJ call to McCabe took place or that it was meant to quash a legitimate FBI investigation of the Clinton Foundation. If that is confirmed, it is a perversion of the Justice Department and its core function of unbiased application of the law.

We need to know if McCabe is telling the truth about direct political pressure to help the Clintons. If he is, we need to know who told the DOJ official to make that call. That explanation needs to be under oath before a grand jury, since it smells a lot like obstruction of justice and may involve his bosses. All of them are high-level political appointees.

(Read it all.)

When does the drip drip drip finally turn into a torrent?

And no wonder there is absolutely no media coverage or interest in this on-going investigation.

The media will not cover it until they are forced to, dragged kicking and screaming.

Until someone BIG is indicted, like HRC, Huma, VJ, OBAMA and/or others.............

Here is more meaty part -
"Somebody’s lying here, and maybe more than one person. All these players are, or were, high-ranking officials at the FBI and DOJ. All of them ought to explain themselves before a grand jury. Since those proceedings are secret and indictments take time, we need public reports, and soon, from Horowitz’s office about these allegations. Was there a political attempt by the Department of Justice to protect the Clinton Foundation from an FBI investigation? Was Loretta Lynch herself involved? Was the White House or were the Clintons? Or did McCabe do all this on his own to protect the Clintons?
And we can expect crickets from Ryan and McConnell and the stupid party they lead.

The media will cover it as a witch hunt by Trump. An abuse of power to bring down this “honorable” man. They always accuse the other side of doing exactly what they’re doing.

Was there a political attempt by the Department of Justice to protect the Clinton Foundation from an FBI investigation?
I don't recall.

Was Loretta Lynch herself involved?
I have no recollection of that.

Was the White House or were the Clintons?
I don't remember.

Or did McCabe do all this on his own to protect the Clintons?
That's not my department.

Yes; the right wing is trying to criminalize politics. This is unprecedented.

The dark state inhabitants, they consider themselves way smarter than we mere mortals.

USA has created agencies that are supposed to make decisions equivalent to the gods. Therefore, those in them _have_ taken it upon themselves to become like gods, having the final say over life, dead and what government is supposed to do.

The only criminal referral so far from the Obama appointed IG and it just so happens to be about a leak that exposes an Obama coverup.

It's not hidden, it's out there in plain sight, as a warning. Don't go against Obama and the DOJ, even if your name is Andrew McCabe.

If we had a second special counsel, the prosecutors could hold the prospect of a conviction on false-statements-to-FBI-agents over McCabe’s head in exchange for cooperation and testimony against Axelrod, Yates and Lynch.

That’s what the first special counsel is doing to Flynn, Papadopoulos and trying to do Manafort and Cohen.

The refusal for so long to appoint a second special counsel no doubt has allowed incriminating communications and other records to be purged.

The Horowitz report does not dispute that the DOJ call to McCabe took place or that it was meant to quash a legitimate FBI investigation of the Clinton Foundation. If that is confirmed, it is a perversion of the Justice Department and its core function of unbiased application of the law.

One must note if the Clinton Foundation were a legitimate charity they would welcome a total audit by forensic auditors of the foundation. The Salvation Army, Billy Grahams Samaritans Purse and many other legitimate charities books are open to all. They are true charity organizations with nothing to hide.

If it smells like corruption, looks like corruption, walks like corruption and quacks like corruption it is not a duck, it is corruption.

If one looks at the history of government, all governments be they free or totalitarian there is always the battle between honesty and corruption. When corruption wins, totalitarianism follows without exception be it corruption of a democratic state or oddly a benevolent totalitarian state as was Spain under Franco. Franco saved Spain from the communists but did no know he needed to quit. His heir apparant, Juan Carlos endured years of silence. When Franco died, he became absolute ruler of Spain as The King.

He quickly set about the road to democracy and then faced a coup by the Army. Juan Carlos had no army as the army was behind the coup. He went to parliament and demanded the army step down and they did. Juan Carlos was immensely popular. The old generals who fought in the Spanish Civil War as young men knew the horror of a new civil war. They pulled back and democracy then flourished in Spain. Oddly they despised Juan Carlos but loved Spain even more. They had no stomach for a new civil war. If Juan Carlos had of been wrong, he would have been dead in a few short days. He is a man to be admired.

The ‘bombshell’ is not really hidden. But.

Since nobody’s (the msm, that is) covering it, it definitely escaped the attention of normal people.

Unlike FReepers, who are almost always on top of things. Sundance, too.
