Oooo...I looked up that iris and it's gorgeous. Sort of reminds me of the one I have that I got, growing wild, from the private cemetery where my mom is buried.
Good evening, Meg...((HUGS))...the ol’ café.
For sure, the weekend is near.
Yes, those irises are gorgeous - - large and pure white. And the nice thing is they bloom twice a year.
I noticed this morning another of the irises Dad sent has put up a couple of bud stems. They're called English Charm and are also beautiful. Kind of a tan and pale lavender with splashes of yellow. I snapped this pic the first year they bloomed.
What delicate coloring! Its gorgeous. I love irises. Mine didnt bloom very well this year because of the lack of rain. :(
It’s an odd color combination but it works out quite well. I hope tonight’s cold doesn’t clobber the buds, or any more buds of the white ones.
There are a lot of other irises around the yards that Hubby’s aunts and mom planted and they’ll bloom a little later. So many beautiful colors.
I wonder of the system west of you will give y’all some rain as it moves this way. Sure would be nice! You need it so badly.
Last weekend they had promised a 50% chance of rain for tomorrow and Saturday. Now it’s gone. fffft!
I just hope you guys don’t get too much! Seems there’s no middle ground this year!
Well that stinks! Nashville said it’ll track to the south and come up at us, rather than down at us like the last couple have.
Maybe it’ll track across you after all. Looks like it’s in a good position to do it. It sure would be great if you could get SOME rain out of the deal.
They predict a couple of inches for us over a few days time. Sunday night is the highest chance for heavy rain for a short time, then scattered showers the next few days. No flooding expected this round. Whew! There’s been enough of that this year in these parts.
Thanks, unique.
radu.....#50!!
((HUGS))Good morning, Ladies. How's it going?
Got lucky that someone was distracted. :-)
That would be awesome if we could get some rain out of that system! Sure am glad that floods won’t be happening in your area, too!
Sorry, I got started and then forgot to hit post. LOL! Guess I’d better go to sleep since I seem to be drifting. See ya tomorrow night for some tuneage?
It sure would be awesome! Y’all have been far too long without rain. I’ll keep all appendages crossed for luck.
Catch ya tomorrow night but only for a little while. Gotta hit the sack early since I’ll need to get up so early Saturday.
Yesterday, I took Bo to the vet for his regular monthly visit. He had been drooling for the past several weeks. The vet drew blood from him and sent it off to be sampled. We should know the results soon.
After checking his mouth several times, the vet found that Bo had a cancerous tumor in his tongue. I've been doing some research on this and found that dogs with this kind of tumor survive 5-8 months.
This may have been why he has been drooling over the past several weeks. The vet informed me that there is not much that they can do about it.
Bo and I had a fun out at Chisolm Trail Park yesterday. He did his usual walking around and sniffing. He also had some fun out in the water. His appetite is still good. He ate some Alpo and corn chips yesterday.
We still have several months of memories left to make but suffice it to say it's not looking too good for Bo. I really do appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers.
We will see how things go in the coming days. I'm going to share a frozen dinner with Bo now.
Oooooh nooooo! I’m so sorry to hear about Bo. Not the kind of news you wanted to hear.
Good odds it’s the cause of his drooling and I hope the blood test doesn’t show anything else going on.
Great to hear his appetite is still good and he isn’t having trouble eating. He’s still doing well enough.
Most definitely keeping Bo - and you - in my prayers. Having been through similar ordeals with our cats, I have an idea of what you’re going through.
Enjoy and make the most of the time you have together and cherish every day with your best buddy.
Thanks, Radu. He’s still up and at em. Just got awakened from a nap a moment ago so he’s still alert.
She liked Classical...and her favorites were:
Farandole from “L’Arlesianne” by Georges Bizet
and
“Oh, Oh, Oh, Tortus Floreo” from “Carmina Burana” by Karl Orff
Border Collies respond to different melodic whistles when herding sheep, much like the military has different bugle calls. Maybe that’s how she got it!
But her tastes were rather sophisticated for a DOG. LOL!
Lynn-Dah, on the other hand, only recognized and was enthralled by one piece of music...”Dogs” by Pink Floyd.
Thanks! I’ve had five dogs over the last 45 years, and my latest buddy is Penny-The-Prancing-Pitbull.
Indeed, Odie DID ride with me. I made a special seat for him from a shopping basket, safe and comfortable, and i made him a leather jacket which I still have.
