Justice Dept. watchdog sends McCabe findings to federal prosecutors for possible charges

The Justice Department's inspector general referred its findings on former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to the US attorney's office in Washington for possible criminal charges associated with lying to internal investigators, according to a source familiar with the matter.

When exactly the referral was made to the US attorney's office was not immediately clear, and prosecutors there may decline to prosecute. Last week, the IG issued a report finding that McCabe "lacked candor" on four occasions with internal investigators when discussing a Wall Street Journal article about the FBI's Clinton Foundation investigation, according to a copy of the report obtained by CNN.

In addition, the inspector general determined that McCabe was not authorized to disclose the existence of the investigation because it was not within the department's "public interest" exception for disclosing ongoing investigations.

Must be getting real if even CNN is reporting on it...didn’t McCabe make some kind of threat about what he would do if he got indicted? Will be interesting to see who he decides to throw under the bus to get a better deal!

“lacked candor”

I think I've got it figured out:

A regular non-ruling-class-type person who “lacked candor” to investigators would be guilty of “lying to investigators”, right?

And, God forbid, if a regular non-ruling-class-type person “lacked candor” under oath then he would be know as a perjurer.

Is that about it?

He does not have to worry about singing like a bird..
He, as well as his lawyers know the jury pool in DC
is probably 90% Rat, 10% Republican.
With lots of RAT appointed judges to shop the case.

Nice little tortuous nugget. The dark side of this is no accountability to Congress. What's nondisclosure good for if not for stalling? I can smell swamp steam hissing like a Smaug, "What did you say?"

If experience counts for anything, we’ll be told something like,” while these accusations are very troubling, they do not rise the the level required for prosecution.”

Or something like that. But hey, maybe this time will be different.
