This was intentional on the part of the last FOUR Presidents.
They hoped to force US into another amnesty so they could steal the country from the citizens.
Refusal to enforce the laws and borders by both parties has encouraged the colonization of our country.

In a retail establishment in NY suburbia yesterday a group of teen girls, well-dressed, intelligent, on line were speaking spanish to each other. Loudly.

They knew what they were doing. They knew they were breaking the law and committing a crime. They knew that they were subject to deportation. So they sank roots at their own peril. If they are punished for criminal activity, e.g. illegal entry, they have no one to blame but themselves.
Note that if Lulu had tried to pull this off in Mexico, the consequences would have been swift AND severe!

2. I try to speak German with my kids from time to time as I believe it’s an intellectual advantage to know another language. Why can’t people converse in Spanish between themselves if they like?

When i lived in Germany I learned and spoke German. I paid for that schooling.
