President Trump makes a statement about Syria

President Donald J. Trump has announced confirmation that the United States has taken military action by bombing Syria in retaliation against Basher al-Assad’s alleged chemical weapon attack on his own civilians last weekend.

In his address, President Trump told the nation that the strikes were a direct result of Russia's failure to prevent Assad from using chemical weapons.

Trump must have cut some deal with the Saudis to get them their gas pipeline.

Yeah, except for that teensy-weensie little detail that Syria is not a sleeping giant.

Well, I’ve seen rumors Russia backed away several days ago; and, have you seen any breathless reports of Russia actually _doing_ anything?

Need to protect the petrodollar. I think that’s the reason.

oy vey. This isn’t exactly a proportional response. The hit on the air base by whoever bombed that was not noteworthy but sounds to me they want to take out Assad. Of course, I don’t understand Trump at all, so no worries there. I have learned to wait and SEE what happens and not listen to him.

Right now, I don't care any further than to say a prayer for the men and women who have been tasked with this. May they come home safely to their families.............

Apparently the proof was obtained by U.S. intelligence — the same U.S. intelligence that not long ago backed up Obama as he took victory laps for getting Assad to “destroy the last of his chemical weapons.”

No matter your position on this strike tonight, something definitely stinks with U.S. intelligence, either then or now. And it is something that should be investigated!

The same “intelligence” that got FISA warrants against members of Trump’s campaign. The same “intelligence” that said Russia colluded.

We no longer have capable intelligence agencies — we have bureaucrats who are globalist agendanistas.

Iran may have been the real target here, more than Russia.

Iran has been seeking a forward base in Syria, and the chemical weapons could have been used against Saudi Arabia and Israel.

This raid destroys that operation, and tells Syria and Iran we will destroy such capability.

The Saudis and the Gulf Cooperation Council are taking the lead in remaking the Middle East.

The Saudis and Iran are enemies.

Iran’s people are protesting and it looks like the mullahs’ days are numbered.

Syria made poor choices, as did Iran.

The Middle East is about to change. The Saudis new leader is not accepting the status quo.

And we are helping him to remake the neighborhood.

Exactly the analogy I made when Kerry proposed this a few years ago. I thought it was a bad idea then. I think it’s a bad idea now.
