Pro-Gun Rights Speaker Not Allowed At Parkland High School

Broward County Public Schools will not allow conservative campus activist Charlie Kirk to speak on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s campus about gun rights.

Broward School District spokeswoman Cathleen Brennan said Thursday that she has “met with the student organizers and advised them that non-school sponsored, student-initiated guest speaker assemblies/meetings are not permitted to take place on campus,” the Associated Press reports.

Kirk, founder and executive director of the conservative student group Turning Point USA, was invited to speak by Parkland student Kyle Kashuv, who supports the Second Amendment. A groundswell of support on Twitter pushed Kirk to accept the invitation. Kirk recently interviewed President Trump for an event for millennials at the White House.

“I excitedly accept and look forward to discussing our right to bear arms in front of a captive student audience,” Kirk wrote on Twitter, accepting the invitation.

Well duh. Of course someone supporting the BOR and the constitution should be banned. Did facebook declare him an unsafe person to just blab about our rights? Besides, it doesn't fit the goal of govt/taxpayer funded places of indoctrination. And it might hurt hoggbreath's feelings.

I think Facebook banned those black women, who support Trump, saying that they were unsafe to the community??

The liberal view is now that you are a threat to public safety? Or that you are inciting a riot, if you support Trump or criticize any politically correct viewpoints??? And then this so called safety concern, is the latest vehicle used to shut down debate???

Instead of handing $13,240 a student to the State Department of Education and trusting them to manage it (which they obviously aren’t doing well), put that money into an educational savings account controlled by the family (it’s the people’s money anyway) that could only be spent on education

Then let all schools, public and private, compete for the best teachers and compete to earn clients (students) by the quality of their product.  If parents want their children to be taught social justice, climate change and transgenderism, they can send their kids to those schools.  For parents that prefer quality reading, writing, arithmetic, real science and history, they can send their kids to schools that emphasize those classes.  The quality of education will be fixed overnight, and parental control will be returned.

This is what’s called a debate in left-speak. You don’t let the other side talk. That means you win.

If he speaks off campus and students attend peacefully, this will be a good thing. If some show up to make trouble., It will just backfire on the Gun Control faction and our cause will prevail. All said, This will be a win-win for both the first and second amendment.

The big loosers will be the Broward County Sheriff's department and Sheriff Scott Israel along with the Superintendent of Schools.

HERE is a link to a suppressed Senate Report from 1982. It only contains the Senate report, not the pro and anti views in the original.
https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2015R1/Downloads/CommitteeMeetingDocument/68101

(cut to the chase)

“The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and wording of the second
amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as well as its interpretation by every major commentator and court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates that what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen to own and carry firearms in a peaceful manner.”

Where ever they hold it, it has to be secure and with the approval of the County and with all necessary permits. Then those who try to disrupt it will be breaking the law.
