Trump Anti-Gun Nominee to Ninth Circuit Driving Away Core Supporters
Oath Keepers ^ | 04/12/18 | David Codrea

Posted on 04/13/2018 10:20:21 AM PDT by Revel

“Democrats praise Trump nominee for 9th Circuit,” The Washington Times reported Wednesday. “Republicans raise critical questions on his gun rights, Citizens United views.”

“Republicans brought the tough questions for Mark Jeremy Bennett over his defense of gun control laws and free speech rights,” the report elaborates. “Mr. Bennett, a former Hawaii attorney general now nominated to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, had backed a limited interpretation of Second Amendment rights that was overturned by the Supreme Court.”

Just being a highly-placed Hawaiian political nominee ought to raise red flags. The state is a “leader” in citizen disarmament. If they ever do have another real catastrophe there, most citizens are going to find out how badly those who have been defrauding them of their birthrights have screwed them.

Add to that the fact that the Ninth Circuit, widely recognized as one of the most “progressive” (read “anti-gun”) courts, recently lost the one sane voice it had on the Second Amendment with the #MeToo-pressured resignation of Judge Alex Kozinski.

The way it works is that they take nominees from the senators of those states. In the ninth, there are few good choices available to him.

I didn’t know Trump had announced some nominees. But to nominate an anti-gun crusader?! WHY?

No excuse! There are other states, and this tradition is not a requirement. This raises question about Trump’s support of the 2nd amendment with he stealthly nominates anti-gun folks.

Best guess is that he got wind that the Rs would vote against anyone truly Constitutonalist, so this guy was the best pick that we could get at this time.

Remember that the Senate is 51-49 right now, and two of those are Juan and Lindsay; it’s effectively a Democrat majority.

I thought only GWB did that. I don’t think Trump has to take their nominees.

I’m worried that Trump doesn’t even know about this guy! Who the hell approved and handed him over for nomination? That’s what I want to know!!!

I think that everyone one was really hoping that this would be a chance at the very beginning of fixing the 9th circuit. So this is very disappointing.

I’m sure there was a pro-gun Arizonan that McCain would have approved of. To pick an anti-gun crusader should wake up McCain as he’s not that far left.

#4: "I don’t get it either. Why?"

President Trump can't do everything by himself. He has to rely on subordinates for counsel.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of his administration he's had people like John McCain and Condoleezza Rice slipping him advice. When you're in his position, you have to trust others. It is to be hoped that someday he'll be able to discern the sheep from the goats. There are a lot of snakes who have betrayed president, and who will do anything to undermine him.

It's too bad he brought in Ivanka, Jared, and all the ass clowns who have been fired. If only he had Steve Bannon still in his inner circle, I don't think a mistake like this would have been made.

Well, if you’re THAT worried, contact the White House ASAP and let them know you’re unhappy.

Trump has been known to listen to us before, remember. Make a lot of noise and he’ll probably change his mind.

The good news is it’s not too late to correct it and go back to the drawing board.
