Hamas: Demand to surrender weapons is 'aggression' against us

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Kassem slammed US Special Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt for saying that Hamas should relinquish control of Gaza.

"American envoy Jason Greenblatt's attack on Hamas and its leadership, and its demand that the movement surrender its weapons, are a continuation of the American partnership with the occupation, with aggression against our people," Maariv cited Kassem as saying.

"This provides coverage for its crimes, use the terms of the occupation itself, and prove his participation in the Israeli propaganda apparatus, which justifies the continuation of the cruel Israeli siege on Gaza."

Kassem's words come in response to a Wednesday tweet in which Greenblatt slammed Hamas leader Yahya al-Sinwar for a recent "monstrous" speech, in which al-Sinwar called to "tear out [Israel's] hearts."

The maintenance of a blood-crazed, hog-wild militia being necessary to the preservation of a state of siege and fear, the right of Hamas members to keep and use arms on civilians and civilization will not be impinged upon.

Disarming the militants is a distraction.

It is irrelevant if they have arms.

Tell them to stop attacking Israel or else they’ll be annihilated.

Then make good on that deal.

Don’t use your weapons responsibly and you lose them.

You deserve to be aggressed against.

The US Media will back this claim, noting that the right to keep and bear arms is essential to all Islam terrorists. Of course, it’s different for Americans: we have no such protection.

“Aggression” against Hamas is what the region needs. Heck, “Total War” against Hamas is what the region needs.

Okay, then inform kassem that there’s a JDAM with his name on it.

Swift and total brutality is the only thing these rabid muslims understand. Let these cowards hide behind their women and children. That will only guarantee their demise as well, and they’ll have nobody to blame but themselves.

If these muslims want total warfare, then they need to accept the consequences. No pity, no mercy, no quarter.

Golda Meir, ‘If the Arabs surrender their weapons, there will be peace. If the Israelis surrender theirs, there will be a massacre’. Still true.

Too well stated! Hope the left doesn't co-opt your statement.

It will be interesting to see how the NYT and WaPo cover this aspect of the Gaza story, assuming they have the guts to cover it - which I doubt. Whatever position they take, there is no way they could “spin” it so that their hypocrisy would not be evident.
