Tim Tebow finally has an offer to return to football and it's from a familiar face

If Tim Tebow wants to make a return to football, it looks like he's finally got an offer on the table. The former Florida Gators quarterback would even get to potentially play in the state of Florida.

Tebow's football offer comes from Steve Spurrier, who was officially named as the coach of the Orlando franchise in the Alliance of American Football on Saturday. Spurrier doesn't have any players yet, but it sounds like he would be very interested in adding Tebow.

"That would be wonderful," Spurrier said on the Open Mike radio show Monday, via the Orlando Sentinel. "I think Tim knows about our league. He knows he's welcome to come down [to Orlando] and play. Obviously, if his baseball career is going well, he may decide to stick with it, which I would certainly understand. But if it doesn't go too well and he has the urge to play football, we would certainly welcome him in Orlando."

If you're not up to date on the AAF, it's a new football league that will kickoff for the first time in February 2019. The league will have eight teams in eight cities. Rosters will have 50 players each and will be built primarily through a regionally-based draft that will be held this fall.

I look forward to it.

I like Tebow. He is a decent guy. I think has a better future in baseball. He did the NFL thing already and it didn’t work out.

I deny Tebow exists. He’s just a figment of your imagination.

Well, the clock has been running on Tebow, same as everyone. And, he is starting to age out of any decent playing opportunities. If I were him I would stay with being a sports personality.

How’s that been working out for the NFL, since they drummed Tebow out...?

No denier here. He’s just not good enough for the NFL. This league however might be perfect for his skills. I imagine it will be lots of run and gun, with little defense.

That being said he’s getting up there in age (close to or 30 I think), and is this really what he wants to be doing? Playing in some football minor league? He’s better off playing baseball.

Amazing how someone not good enough for even a backup position in the NFL won a playoff game against a very good defense. While Geno Smith lives on.

He was good enough. Some people just don’t want to admit that he was black-listed for his religious beliefs.

Age 30 is really late to be trying to gain entry into football. Defenses have 23 Y O linebackers and safeties who look like someone crossbred a cheetah with a rodeo bull, and they hit so hard it’ll change your world view.

Tebow doesn’t need football.

Not to mention Russell Wilson, Aaron Rogers, Drew Breeze, Prince Amukamara of the Giants, and dozens of others. The only difference between these players and Tebow is that they have the ability to play football at the NFL level and Tebow doesn't.
