Even under Trump, Russian media has worse things to say about USA than they do about ISIS terrorists. You should also listen to Putin’s speeches. English transcripts are available online. He goes on and on about the Soviet collapse, what a disaster for the world it was, how arrogant the West is. This is in 2018 by the way.
Very little time is spent attacking “threats” to world security like: Islamic terrorism or North Korea. (Who is an ally of Russia.)

I would caution against applying such noxious rhetoric against a daughter of Christ. Especially one who has uplifted the level of U.N. dialogue and accountability the way she has.
Ambassador Haley is the mouthpiece God chose to declare Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Such a special moment in world history. It took a lot of hutzpah and bravery on the part of the Trump admin to do that. And it is the decision thst believe it or not, will really put the region on the path to peace and ground the world order.
If you look at most European world maps before modern era: Jerusalem was always the center. :)

If there is anything the Russians understand, it is: America is the leader of Western Civilization. (Western Civ is who they believe they are at war against, not radical Islam. Syria is just another front.)

If Present-day Europe is “Western Civilization”, then they can prove their mettle by defending themselves. Collectively they easily have the resources. We are NOT the world’s (or even our own hemisphere’s) policeman.
I think that this is an overstatement that misses the point. The Russians view the Western Establishment as their enemy, the Soros crowd, the people who are telling Russia how it should be governed, that it must allow gay rights, that there must be unlimited immigration, that national cultures do not matter. I do not think Russia views the Visegrad countries (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary) as its true enemies. And what is this Western Civilization you speak of? If you spend any time in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, the Low Countries, France... you would be amazed at how secular they are and how hostile to Christianity they are. They have abandoned Western Civiliazation and it is what they have allowed in its place that the remenants of Western Civilization must be opposed to, as must Russia.
I understand, but that would leave a vacuum and you are sorely misguided if you think Russia won’t want fill it. They are already trying. It of course wants to be the new “policeman.”
(Which would be awful especially if you grasp what a Russian concept of “police” means even in its most basic sense.)

I agree with all of that except that “Real Europe” will never return absent a return of Christianity. That is unlikely to happen with the Catholic Church in Europe in such a pitiful state. European movements about sovereignty and nationalism are all well and good but they will not amount to much in a godless vacuum. Of course, nature disfavors vacuums and what grows in post-Christian secular environment but the certainty and anti-secularism of Islam.
Brexit would not have happened if it weren’t for the quiet resurgence and hunger for faith and Christian tradition merged with national tradition — much of which you will see on physical display in the upcoming Royal Wedding.

We’ve been played by sinister forces with regards to Syria, Libya and probably Iraq as well. Since everything we do in that region is wrong-headed, it’s probably better to do nothing and let the chips fall where they may, why waste our treasure on a dysfunctional region that hates the west and in particular hates America?
Assad has no logical reason to launch chemical attacks every time he makes gains in the civil war. So who does have a logical reason to stage them? Whoever is losing.
Putin gets blamed for everything by globalists because they don’t like his independent frame of mind. That doesn’t excuse some of his actions, but if it comes to a choice between Putin and globalism, I’d rather take my chances with Putin, since globalism has the destruction of western civilization as its primary objective. I don’t think Putin wants a lot more than to make Russia great again, that does not necessarily have to be through destroying anyone else.
Our media and political elites need to be confronted about this seedy tactic of pushing make believe news stories as though they were fully researched fact — they are nothing more than speculation and any real journalist would want to find out what really happened as opposed to what we are being told might have happened.
