Public School Education K-12 is equivalent to Child Abuse.
Kids with their heads on straight can survive College, however there is tremendous amount of denying one’s opinions in many classes, can survive.
I told mine to keep their yaps shut and if need be, lie.
How pathetic is that?

I’ve become convinced that the best thing we could do for this country is to shutter 95 percent of colleges. A few jobs require four years of intense study, but for most jobs, you learn by doing. The degree is just signaling that you’re the kind of person who is reasonably intelligent and can handle repetitive work. Bryan Caplan recently wrote an excellent book on this subject.

My job involves some pretty high-level programming and data analysis, but I could take on a reasonably mature 18 year-old as an apprentice. The apprentice could help me by attending to things like data review and organization of files at first, but could gradually gain knowledge and skills and thus improve their worth to the organization. The apprentice could take a few college courses in the first few years on some very specific subjects related to the field, such as database management. But a four-year degree costing a few hundred grand where he or she won’t care and won’t remember most of the stuff? Waste of time and money.

Sadly, every word of this piece is true. I work for a community college in California. It’s total Marxist indoctrination and victimhood, non-stop. Gross generalizations and normalizing of abnormal-pyschology abound. The nutty titles they’re giving to new layers of worthless of “Acting Assistant Deans” and Vice Presidents is driving up the costs too. All of these “Equity” and “Diversity” Deans - what the Heck? Very few students will benefit from college today, unless they are sticking to voc ed (Nursing, Welding), a hard science, or accounting. Even those majors will be served a heaping dollop of wacky class-warfare Marxism. We need more colleges like Hillsdale; there is pent-up demand for them!

To say we won the Cold War is not factually incorrect but the tactic of insurgency of Communist/Socialist influence within our government and schools was a huge win. America is rotting rapidly, dividing at many levels and socially degrading in most segments of its population.

They have had decades to bring our youth to this point. I honestly do not see how we can reverse it, in a peaceful manner, mainly because the ones capable of doing so are dying off. In addition, they have a stranglehold on who is hired, meaning conservatives need not apply.

My daughter went to a liberal Jesuit (but I repeat myself) university and now grad school. She just laughs at their liberal antics, and will take her degree and go on to a very successful career. It has damaged her conservatism not one bit and has provided a good deal of entertainment for her.

Pol Pot said that too.

Well if academia in Cambodia were as incompetent as what are now teaching our children, then Pol Pot would have been justified, but that was not the case. You see you can't just quote what a bad person said, you have to look behind the true motivation as to why he said it.

He was trying to make his fellow countrymen less educated, as an uneducated society is vastly more pliable than one that is educated. So Pol Pot said it to gain control for indoctrination purposes, whereas matt1234 said it put true education back in control, and eliminate the indoctrination.

So do you still feel the same way?

As do I, and everyone one of them are appalled at what they see happening in the educational system in America. They escaped their situation to see it happening here, and we are just allowing it to happen.

Do you think they would have gotten there with our politically correct universities today, if they were in place back when they arrived here? Where learning is substituted for social justice BS. Their only saving graces might have been their experiences, experiences our children have never had to live through, yet our children think they have had it rough.
