Liberals just won a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court by a huge margin
Vox ^ | 3 April 2017 | Andrew Prokop

Liberal candidate Rebecca Dallet has won election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, according to Decision Desk. Dallet defeated her conservative opponent for the open seat, Michael Screnock easily, and her victory will cut the conservative majority on the court from 5-2 to just 4-3.

Dallet’s win is yet another example of liberal voter enthusiasm in state and local elections held during the age of Trump. And in Wisconsin specifically, it’s a rare victory for a Democratic Party that’s been beaten again and again in recent years. (The race was technically nonpartisan, but Dallet was the Democrat-backed candidate, and Screnock the conservative-backed one.)

However, the court will remain in conservative hands for the near future. The next conservative-held seat won’t be up for election until 2020, and before that, liberals will have to defend one of their own seats next year.

Once elected, Wisconsin Supreme Court justices serve out 10-year terms. However, if a seat should become vacant in the middle of a term, the governor can appoint a replacement justice. A new election is then scheduled for that seat in the first year when there’s no other supreme court election on the ballot (that is, two seats can’t go up for election in the same year). Tuesday’s election is for an open seat held by a conservative justice who chose to retire.

And the hits keep coming. The only explanation is that Conservatives are not showing up to vote. We can't keep losing all these safe seats. I know many will give numerous excuses and reasons why it isn't a big deal, but one day, it may jut become a big deal.

Not surprised. Trump just barely won the state. And it’s infested with unionized government employees...

"Dallet’s win is yet another example of liberal voter enthusiasm vote fraud in state..."

I'm sure Nancy Ryan backed her all the way.

Now I understand why Walker didn’t want to have special elections that will come up in June. We probably will lose those too and Walker knows it. We are in a World of hurting it appears.

Trump just won the state and Walker won 3 times without voter fraud so suddenly they are doing it? And if that is the case, why is Governor Walker not doing anything about it?

This shouldn’t be a surprise. The Never Trumpers have worked over time to suppress GOP voter enthusiasm.

Vox is not a reliable source, and selecting a Vox article to be posted in breaking news, with all the associated spin and democrat cheerleading speaks volumes.

I just googled and that came up. Doesn’t take away the facts that we lost ANOTHER race that we shouldn’t have. Also, FR does a good job keeping sites that are not allowed when posting. Obviously this site is allowed by FR.

It’s frustrating. We are losing races that should be easy wins. At least 3 out of 42 races we have lost that went from Republican to Democrat should have been shoe-ins for us. This is one of them.

Vox is a far-left Soros backed partisan Democrat outfit. It is not a news source. There was already a Wisconsin thread that was active and was posted quite a bit before this article. While Vox might be allowed on the site, choosing to highlight it is akin to posting a DU article here.

Your link would be a reputable news source. It’s fact, it doesn’t have the associated Vox spin.

“so suddenly they are doing it?”

In case you haven’t noticed the left are lawless. Take a look around. “The ends justify the means” They’re going to do whatever it takes to make sure Trump is a one termer or less. Anyone with a D

They can’t afford to let him dismantle their “playhouses”. The dems were so close to having it all. From never having to worry about elections again.

Maybe the Omnibus dampened enthusiasm a bit. But I think the turnout will be greater for the mid-terms than they have been for these special elections.

Just BTW: Clicking on that link “upped” VOX in Google’s selecting model (LOL! can’t think of the word: ana-something?)

Anyway, not good news.

The omnibus was the final straw. The Gop have been sticking it to Trump for the last 2 plus years and they haven’t stopped trying...From failing to repeal obolacare to siding with ANTIFA against President Trump.

The GOP are dead-enders for special interests and the corrupt state. The party is no more. Bereft of life. Let’s face it, it’s former party.
