Netanyahu makes late night u-turn on deal for African asylum seekers in Israel

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, announced yesterday he had reached a deal with the UN to resettle thousands of African asylum seekers only to u-turn within hours after a rebellion by his own ministers.

The Israeli leader said on Monday afternoon that he had struck an international agreement under which around half of the 40,000 asylum seekers in Israel would be sent to Western countries like Canada, Germany and Italy.

Under the terms of the deal, the Israeli government agreed to let the other half stay in the country and to scrap controversial plans to deport them to other nations in Africa.

But just hours after Mr Netanyahu announced the deal with great fanfare, calling it an “unprecedented common understanding” with the UN, he was forced to retreat in the face of angry backlash.

Several senior ministers denounced the agreement and Right-wing activists from within his political base said it was too generous to the asylum seekers who would be allowed to stay. “For the time being, I am suspending the agreement,” Mr Netanyahu said shortly before midnight.

I recently watched a tv series on Netflix that was basicly a reality show where court enforcement officials went around Britain, mostly in London, and evicted tenants who routinly rented appartments and houses and after a month or two stopped paying rent. Britain has very strange laws that makes it very difficult to near impossible to get a tenant out of your property for any reason and to do so takes thousands in court fees and months to years of time where the bums get to live in and trash the owners property rent free. It was discusting. They has landlords who became homeless while the bums had a roof over their heads at their cost. One thing that became very clear to me after just a couple of episodes was that these bums were almost always either refugees from Africa, the Middle East, or Western Europe. I now wonder if there are any Britts still living in London. The court guys went on and on about how the housing offices (apparently a Brittish socialist big government thing) was broken. Never once did they even seem to grasp that the real problem was staring them in the face and is something President Trump would quickly no doubt suggest to them to stop importing people from shit hole countries and the problem will be fixed. But either due to rampant political correctness or very effective brainwashing of the Brittish citizens they are unlikley to ever see the truth. I hope Prime Minister Netanyahu understands it.

Most of the asylum seekers in Israel are from Eritrea, an authoritarian east African state where men are often conscripted into the military for life...

Okay. The Israeli's conscript pretty much everyone in to their military, albeit not for life. Still, the "oppression" is only a matter of degree, and I do not think it qualifies anyone for "asylum". Why not stay in your country and work for change.

Think of how they pressure colleges, businesses,, even the UN to turn against Israel.

I think I have it figured out. All the countries to which these “refugees” were “supposed” to be sent will very shortly find some excuse not to accept them. It will then fall to the United States, that great bastion of liberty and diversity, to accept them in order to keep them from being oppressed- to, in fact, “save their lives”. And if we refuse, then we’re a bunch of bigoted racist haters who want Africans to die.

The Israeli government said the original plan had been abandoned "because of legal considerations and diplomatic difficulties concerning third-party countries."

The first question I asked yesterday about this issue was how Israel and the UN could broker a deal involving third party nations without those nations being a party to the agreement.
