Israel said on Monday it has cancelled a plan to deport African migrants to Africa and reached an agreement with the U.N. refugee agency to send more than 16,000 to Western countries instead.
Other migrants, many of whom are seeking asylum, will be allowed to remain in Israel for at least the next five years, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.
The fate of some 37,000 Africans in Israel has posed a moral dilemma for a state founded as a haven for Jews from persecution and a national home. The right-wing government is under pressure from its nationalist voter base to expel the migrants, while others are calling for them to be taken in.
In February, Israel started handing out notices to 20,000 male African migrants giving them two months to leave the country or risk being thrown in jail.

What is this constant nonsense? Isn’t it a bit “ironic” African Americans do nothing but lament they were forced to come here (”they” weren’t their ancestors were) and meanwhile all of Africa wants to get out and come here? But being a leftist victim has nothing to do with consistency. The migrants aren’t happy with us once they get here either.
This will turn out to be a catastrophic error, which is why the antisemitic Left will celebrate this decision.

The Africans have a whole enormous continent of their own, a continent rich in natural resources and opportunity. The Israelis only have a tiny strip of barren desert land a few miles wide. There is no cultural connection, or racial, or religious connection, or historical connection between Africa and Israel.
Essentially African parasites are just looking for another host which will allow them to suck its blood. The history of African migrants show that they bring nothing to the host's table, but violence, crime, topped with intractable social, and economic burdens.
Very generous of Israel. Push out their unwanteds and be seen as humanitarians. Poor dumb me, I thought the United States was in charge of our immigration policies, not the UN.
According to today’s Guardian newspaper, the Africans will be settled in Germany, Canada and one other European nation.
IIRC there are fewer than 16k Beta Israelis left in Ethiopia. Vast, vast majority moved to Israel in the 70s and 80s.
