he Commerce Department has announced that a question will be added to the 2020 Census asking about respondents’ citizenship status. Democrats have responded with fury. While their argument is that the question will discourage illegal immigrants from participating in the survey, there is another, related reason why the urban elites who now dominate the Democratic party are afraid of this simple question.
With this question, the 2020 Census will better quantify the extent to which immigration, including illegal immigration, gives Democrats disproportionate political power - despite the fact that immigrants themselves are not allowed to vote. This happens because seats in the House, and consequently Electoral College votes as well, are given out based on the total number of people residing in a state.
California illustrates the problem. While the Census Bureau stopped asking about citizenship on the main Census form in 1960, it has continued to ask about it in other surveys. One of these, the American Community Survey, shows that the non-citizen proportion of the population in the states varies widely, ranging from 14 percent in California to less than 1 percent in West Virginia. Based on these estimates, California, the first sanctuary state, has five or six more members of the House than it would if House seats were based on citizen population alone.
One of the most fundamental questions for any representative democracy is how the representatives are selected. In our era of historically high immigration, the introduction of the citizenship questions on the Census should begin a much-needed debate about whether our country will be governed equally by all of its citizens.

Yes, the Democrat Party desperately needs these illegal alien voters to replace the estimated 35 million Democrat babies that have been murdered since Roe V Wade of 1973.

Without “assistance” from those who “help them wade through the intricate hurdles of living in the shadows” in America, many will fear giving their names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. will prove to be a direct hotline to ICE to get deported!
It’s kind of like the thousands who chose to drop signing up for food stamps (I know, it’s now SNAP) they feared ICE now knows where to come round them up, and they do!
The best part of all of this is merely advertising the question would be restored to the Census, has dimocRATS now are running around with their hair on fire, which loudly screams their true reason for encouraging illegal aliens in the first place - money, voters, US House seats, Electoral College numbers, voters, money and money!
It truly was never, ever about liberals actually caring for the people and now we can prove it - just like DACA!

The faux "liberals," to which you refer, have never been really caring about their projects. The motivation has always been a consuming hatred against the realities of the human experience--particularly as seen in the eternal verities, to which Conservative Americans look for a sense of purpose.
To such "liberals," the objective is a world of make believe, where people are treated as inte4rvhangeable dolls to be re-engineered into controlled "citizens of the world," or some such idiocy, that removes everything the compulsion driven Leftist fears.
More accurately, illegal immigration is the THEFT of political power by the cities and states that encourage it, from everyone else.
So we’re probably looking at 30-40 Democratic House seats apportioned to Democratic states solely due to harboring illegal immigrants.
This is a causus belli level offense against the rest of the country.
Question or no question, we want the illegals to run and hide when the census shows up. So we keep this issue front and center to keep them scared.
One other thing. We need conservatives to sign up and conduct the census.

Do you mean like the crime of entering the country illegally? Or the crime of obtaining a fraudulent SS card? Or the crime of illegally accessing public assistance? Or the crime of... Sorry, this will be viewed in the same prism as the other crimes they commit to stay in the country illegally.
