Reconcile your imaginations about a non-existent hell with this:
Revelation 20:10-15:
10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.
14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

My impressions of New Jersey come from passing through the state several times either on my motorcycle in the 70s or on a NAVL rig in the 80s. Bleak. Dusty. Grey. All the food joints from toll road McDs to pricey but not elite restaurants had the same limp warmed over ambiance. Even the napkins were limp.

Why do you equate the existence of Hell with having to work for your salvation?
If you knew the Scriptures, you would understand that Hell was created for Satan and his fallen Angels, otherwise known as demons.
And salvation was provided by God in the sacrifice of His Son by His grace, which means in the Greek, “unmerited favor,” so humanity wouldn’t have to follow Satan into Hell...
“For by grace are you saved through faith; and that, not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest a man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Yes, I have studied Greek myself and there are several renderings for the word “Hell,” however, they all indicate a place of punishment after death and none of them negate the imagery that Jesus Himself ascribed to Hell...
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41)
“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeing Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” (Luke 16:23-24)
“Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:22)
“And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:43-48)
“And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:46)
And from the book of Revelation...

Since the Son of God Himself has repeatedly given us such vivid descriptions of Hell specifically, it demands that we take it seriously.
As for your concept of God as being unloving if He exacts vengeance on His enemies, again, you’re trying to re-create Him into your image, not who He actually is.
The Bible says that God doesn’t just possess love, He IS love, but the fallen and depraved nature of mankind is what should be judged here, not God’s response to it.
And this is where so many people fail to grasp this vital truth, and that is, GOD IS HOLY.
He HATES sin. It is the antithesis of His holy nature.
And He Himself has said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19)
The apostle Paul said, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31)
“For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29)
Jesus said, “Fear Him, who is able to cast both body and soul into Hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
If people willfully reject His loving offer of FREE salvation through the gift of His Son, then they will face Him and eternal damnation in their sins, because they rejected the only thing that covers sin, and that’s the blood of Christ.
If you read the Scriptures about Hell and then conclude that it’s simply speaking of some graveyard with no eternal consequences for evil, then you are not being intellectually honest.
Just because people don’t want Hell to exist, doesn’t render it nonexistent. It is still there.
In fact, the Scriptures said that Hell “enlarged itself” to make room for all of the souls falling into it. (Isaiah Isaiah 5:14)
I pray that you will not make this fatal mistake, which has eternal consequences.
I pray that you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then you will be sure to escape the place called, Hell.

So was Jesus hallucinating when he told the disciples about Abraham and Lazarus, the poor man in paradise, and rich man hell, who was begging to tell his brothers to repent so they would not have to suffer the same judgment has he did?

This Catholic doesn’t consider Jorge Bergoglio to be anything but an imposter.
First thing I’m gonna do when I go to church on Easter Sunday is check with my religious leader to see if my religion still has hell. Who knows? Something might’ve changed since the last time I was at church on Christmas.
The Catholics are making a pretty attractive offer right there. I could be persuaded to change religions.
