There's not a 'snowflake's chance in hell' of repealing the Second Amendment (CNN)
CNN ^ | March 27, 2018 | Z. Byron Wolf, CNN

How could those high school kids have marched en masse and not achieved any meaningful reform?

That seems to be the state of affairs: The gun laws seem intractably set, despite growing public support to change them, at least on the periphery of the laws. Measures passed in Florida after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting seem to have no prospects at the national level.

But former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens is not talking about frittering around the edges of anything.

He issued a modest proposal in The New York Times to get rid of the Second Amendment altogether. Repeal it, he says.

The author of the article did figure it out, that while they can get some people to march around making demands, realistically people are not going to support repealing the Second Amendment, as judge Stevens would wish.

Where is this “growing support” of which the Communist News Network’s Z Byron Wolfie speaks?

Don’t even call it “Repealing the 2nd”. Call it “Starting CW2”.

Give kids the day off from school and they’ll march around for anything. Especially if it makes them feel righteous or important, or they think they might get on tv or meet a celebrity.

See, simple.

The “growing public support” is to nullify and repeal gun control laws—all of them.

But if they don’t repeal the 2nd amendment, how are they going to genocide all those pesky conservatives?

In reality we are just one Supreme Court vote away from a ruling that the RKBA is the right of the state to have a national Guard and not an individual right.

It is a little known fact that one of the main triggers for our war of independence was the confiscation of firearms by the redcoats. That was the historical context that existed when the founders wrote the 2nd Amendment.

The left goes too far with everything and they have jumped the shark again.

If the Second Amendment were ever to be repealed, the reason for its existence would become immediately and brutally self-evident.

I’ve got a better idea for a Constitutional Amendment. It’s called the “drug dealers ain’t got no civil rights amendment”. No Miranda, No Double Jeopardy protection. Etc.

It would be interesting if some of the Uber left in Congress actually introduced a bill to repeal the Second Amendment following the process in the Constitution. My bet is very few Democrats would be willing to put their name on the bill let alone vote for it. It is easy to talk, stir up crowds and discuss with the talking heads on CNN, but to actually put your name on a bill to repeal a part of the Bill of Rights... Democrats would run like cockroaches when you turn on the light.

Judge Stevens?

Judge?

A man who can not be trusted with an oath.

A man who is bought and paid for.

A man with no honor.

Everything that is sacred to this nation is meaningless to this man.

Steven's is no Judge.

The man is a contemptible fool. Period.

Yup, you nailed it.

If they are going to steal my God-given inalienable rights, its time to burn it down!

Civil Society? Yeah. Uh huh.
