Colleges keep designating spaces as off-limits to men, only to backtrack when someone files a formal complaint or their curious interpretation of inclusivity falls under the harsh glare of the less-woke public.
The latest is the Claremont Consortium’s Pitzer College, which apparently didn’t learn from Stanford’s short-lived no-men weight lifting hours.
The Residence Life office at Pitzer organized a “women and non-binary people’s gym day” at the Gold Student Center Friday, banning men during the high-traffic hours of 2 to 5 p.m.
The intent was to make “people of other genders feel safe to explore the gym, learn about the equipment, or just workout in a man-free space” according to the event listing. It doesn’t mention transgender students, presumably including men who identify as women under the banner of “women.”
The Claremont Independent reports that the organizers haven’t explained “why women and non-binary individuals have difficulty exercising with men, if there have been any incidents in the gym where men have made other genders feel uncomfortable, and where Pitzer males will work out during that closure.”
The paper said male students at Pitzer had to use a gym on its sibling Pomona campus, a 20-minute walk, if they wanted to work out between 2 and 5 on Friday:
There has been no indication whether the school or resident advisors plan to continue allotting hours for women and gender non-binary peoples.
Public spaces that exclude men (however defined) are legally problematic, as University of Michigan-Flint economist Mark Perry has written.

As a female that loves men all I can say is their loss and good luck with awesome sex and reproducing in the future. Idiots all.
If they're so unappreciated but needed for attendance and ticket income, then they should disappear from the courts and the fields and the gyms.
The schools don't want real men in their locker rooms? Fine. The real men won't go in the locker rooms. Let the schools have what they want.

Imagine if they banned women from the gym friday afternoons because men dont want to be bugged by them working out and playing basketball. They want time to work out without concern false sexual harassment charges being able to be filed against them.
I know some old Freepers will mention the right to associate business with who you choose and that’s fine, but just imagine if women were banned, just imagine the outrage, also this is a state university so even if freedom of association were to apply it cannot apply here for this is a state institution.

At this point colleges in my area are desperate to get some white men enrolled because as the area loses its white male population it resembles an area without white people: No taxpayers, intact families (and the crime rates that accompany the lack of fathers), or anyone to fix anything. Companies were already fleeing the tax burdens; they can’t return or be replaced because the English-speaking educated workforce is leaving as well. I’ve described the “departmental scribe” in related threads; amidst the otherized tokens and such in the workforce today, you’ll find each area also has a real American to write coherent letters, emails, etc..
