I wonder what he/she/it was reading?
The purpose of the “safety driver” is safety.
That guy was reading/sending texts.
Look at the video of the car interior.
Which human? The woman with the bicycle? Or the fat ugly tranny in the Uber car?
Point is neither of them were looking at the road.
Absolutely correct. After looking at this video I still blame the woman with the bicycle.
WTHeck is that???
Thats a man, baby.
And, what a strange pic of the victim. Looks like a mug shot.
RIP, regardless.
I am more than willing to bet the person trusted the vehicle to handle itself when he should have been watching the road.
The woman driver was not paying attention to the road ...
Reading?? Or, sleeping?
Oh I did watch the interior video. I certainly did. That fat tranny freak was worthless and useless. He may not of even been in the car for all the good he did.
Having said that I still maintain that even if he was driving by himself fully alert and aware, that woman would still be just as dead.
I don’t see where she jumped in front of the car - she was walking across the road. The only thing that jumped was the driver when he was about to hit her.
He was probably watching some kind of sick porno on his phone.
Why in God’s name would hire someone like this!!
This element of stupidity makes me way more uncomfortable with this technology. Where else in this “experiment” are they stupid?
“Someone make these ridiculous things illegal please. NOW.”
I would take driver-less cars over distracted-texting ‘drivers’ any day.
looking at that video, i think there’s a VERY good chance that an alert driver would have had time to slam on the brakes and/or swerve. Maybe not to avoid the collision entirely, but at least reduce speed and/or strike a glancing blow. I’ve certainly had people appear out of the dark in similar circumstances where I’ve had to slam on the brakes in a panic.
I think both Uber and “driverless” cars are in serious trouble here.
“illegal felon TRANNY who was supervising (not driving, really) the car:”
and a meth head running in front of the car.
Uber is going to have to update their software for such scenarios. lol
At night. Illegally. Into oncoming traffic.
Clearly it was at night. I don’t know the details about whether it was illegally, in these parts pedestrians have the right-of-way. And not into oncoming traffic, she was walking across (perpendicular to) the road.
I still place the majority of blame on her. Not Uber. Nor that freak whatever it is.
...
I agree. But autonomous cars should have sensors that would have detected her, and he wasn’t as attentive as he should have been.
I think if I’d been driving I could have missed her.
Remember the points system we used to use when we were young and dumb?
Running over a meth head might get you 25 points. But if you hit a fat tranny freak? Winner!!! That would be 100 points easy.
