uh, no.
But I am optimistic that somebody like Cox, armed with only three issues can make the finals:
1. Repeal the new gas tax.
2. Repeal the additional sales tax that was supposed to be temporary.
3. Overturn the Sanctuary laws.
1200 people with my last name fought with the Yankees....700 fought for the Rebels.
And...like my father before me, I take a Rebel stand.
I wonder if Trump will call in Federal troops to protect these cities/counties if the State of CA tries to use force against them.
It’s something we fervently hope for.
They are too busy enjoying the weather, or something.
Cannot be bothered, anymore than they were when the state slid downhill starting in the 1970's.
I live in Cypress which is next door to Los Alamitos and I hope our city joins in.
Reminds me of Ronald Reagan’s wonderful speech, “A Time for Choosing.” Those cities that wish to obey U.S. law instead of Communist CA law will have to choose which government they support.

The so-called jungle primary in CA is both outrageous and heartbreaking. I lived in the Los Angeles area for 40 years before moving away three years ago. I was involved in local politics in the 1990’s and saw even then how Republicans were slipping further and further into irrelevance as the communists consolidated their power and control — and as Republicans would not unify. The jungle primary system ensures Dem control pretty much in perpetuity.
Well, if the only thing necessary for evil to flourish is that good men do NOTHING.
It looks as though some good men have had enough and are doing SOMETHING.

I know you asked Mariner that question, but I’m not in the least bit optimistic. Only way to get rid of the jungle primary is through lawsuits all the way to the US Supreme Court and hope for a ruling in favor of the plaintiffs. It’s the longest of long shots. The communists came up with the scheme to guarantee their power in perpetuity. It doesn’t help that California Republicans are badly split between moderates and conservatives with neither side willing to find enough common ground to fight the real enemy.

The other side of the open primary is that in the districts that the California GOP has abandoned to the Democrats it lets Republicans influence the Democrat vote by voting for the conservative or moderate Democrat over the anointed leftist.
Too bad the sane people in California - like the Los Alamitos city council - do not have more power. The lefties, led by Moonbeam Jerry, are totally insane.

It sounds like the state of California is about ready to declare war on its citizens, in an effort to protect illegal aliens from the federal government.
Law enforcement in municipalities and counties along the border have already told ICE/CBP to FOAD if they need assistance. ICE/CBP don’t want to hand over people caught jumping the border because they know that the local cops will just let them go.
I think that we should militarize the border, complete with barbed wire and armed troops, until a wall can be built. And don’t give me that “states rights” bullshit.
What they do in california, arizona, new mexico, and texas, affects everybody else in the country.
And it’s the Constitutional responsibility of the federal government to proect our borders. That’s the response of the other 49 states to all of you in california that have sided with mexico and love giving the rest of the US the middle finger.
So everyone on shore can look out there and see’em.

Being a 50 year resident and native of Southern California, and now having a small vacation condo in Old Town Orange, living full time in North Dallas.......I would love nothing more than to welcome back a conservative and defiant part of California to the USA. That would be awesome.
