Turkey's constant shelling and bombing is taking a huge toll in lives of soldiers and civilians. Efrin city is estimated to have had 700,000 citizens when this started. This says 150,000 have left. Water, power and food supplies have been cut off. Smaller towns were cleared, property taken back to Turkey to sell and in many cases the towns were flattened with shelling.

This is a massacre, but YPG/YPJ and SDF have killed large numbers of Turkey's FSA Jihadi Militia fighters. And have destroyed over 40 tanks.

This will be a massacre if Turkey manages to overrun Efrin. If Syria had air support, this would not happen. But they don't.

Sadly no one in the West will care. Our governments only seem to get up in arms when Communists or Terrorists are being dispatched...and that is not the case here.

These are good people being killed by evil animals.

And they are good soldiers. Without air support it is very hard. 2 months of holding almost unlimited forces at bay. Man of Turkey’s militia’s are in fact ISIS and al Qaeda vermin.

Turkey has killed as many civilians (women and children) as they have soldiers.

This should not be allowed to happen. Period.

From March 16th

Overwhelmed and angry nurse at a hospital in Afrin:
NATO is killing our people, not just Turkey. Europe and U.S. share responsibility in the killing of these people here.

Yes, I saw that. I cannot blame them for feeling that way, but I also know what happens if we do stop it.

UN will not and can not stop it.

It will only stop when brute force is applied.

Turkey, Russia and Iran think they have us in a lose lose situation.

Where this will go, will be decided in the next few days. Possibly tomorrow. Not much more than a very few days.

Will the result be genocide? Not sure, but I see nothing indicating it will not go that far. NOTHING.

Turkey is not Communist. It is Fascist.

Turkey is an Islamist Fascist Dictatorship.

And it is a terrorist nation.

So, where is the threshold?

That is wrong. They have shut down all communications into Efrin by destroying the communication towers in the region.

But Turks have been telling wild lies for weeks.

It will not fall that quick, the Kurd solders will fight to the end. They might choose to leave the city at some point, but I cannot see them abandoning the civilians. They will all fight.

Turkey and the militias have been badly bloodied in this. That is not mentioned back home in Turkey.

Now, outside reinforcements? Not sure if that is a possibility. If this becomes a genocide and Turkey kills hundreds of thousands of civilians, there will be a reaction.

I’m pretty sure it is a fake Turk Propaganda account.

It is just now 8:00 AM in Afrin. I’m not believing it.

That account is talking about the battle in #EasternGhouta.

That is between Assad’s Iranian militias and al Qaeda. Nothing to do with Turkey.

I say it is a propaganda account.

WTF is NATO? What is its purpose?

WTF are we doing in the Mideast? What is the national security interest? Dumb people, even with good intentions, will help destroy this country. That's only foreign policy!!! Domestically, this Republic is teetering on catastrophic collapse.

Why can’t the U.S., Israelis Egyptians or Saudis just kill the terrorist Erdogan already?

@IvanSidorenko1 is a Russian Photojournalist who usually embeds with the SAA. He embeds w/ the Tiger Forces quite a bit. He has been covering Ghouta, Damascus,, Al
Tanf, but the photos labeled Afrin are not Ghouta.

He gets around, and despite his favoring the legitimate government of Syria, his journalism has never been called propaganda.

Unlike Syrian Human Rights Watch which is based in Britain, by someone who is not boots on the ground in Syria, Sidorenko is and has been documenting the war in Syria from Syria. He is often right in the middle of battles and bombings.

This video certainly looks like Turks entering Afrin this morning.

If you followed Sidorenko, you’d know he has Sat Comm’s.
He doesn’t have to rely on cell towers.

The US will be OK.

I am concerned for my Syrian friends in Efrin.

Communication into Efrin has been destroyed. I know how these people fight. They will not back away from the battle.

They are in a very tough situation.
