"We are filled with pride and satisfaction at seeing this engineering feat come to life and connect our campus to the surrounding community where thousands of our students live."

Engineering feat? It's friggin' concrete! And didn't last a week.

THIS actual engineering feat was built in 1777, still stands today, and handled vehicular traffic into the 1960s.

Check the bid proposal. Since it had federal money I’m 100% positive they had a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) /WBE (Women owned Business Enterprise) goal for a certain % of work for these type of firms.

In China the responsible people would be executed. In America they are reelected to office.

Project manager was a Hispanic woman whose kid went to the college.

Well, more than one hundred experts holding Doctorate Degrees in Ethnic and Women's Studies reached a consensus that the bridge would last 100 years or more.

Let’s be honest. China is the largest steel maker in the world, by far. There’s nothing wrong with Chinese steel overall.

There IS a problem with American planners, government officials, engineers and buyers.

Yup! Who needs engineering skills? You just have to to have the right skin color, the “right” gender or be gender fluid. Knowledge is not a requirement in this society.

I read where the original design had the walkway supported with cables from a tower - none of which is seen at the collapsed walkway.
Sooo, maybe they forgot the supports?

I’ll bet one or two dissenters warned about this and they were told to shut up.
