Many of us have been through horrible experiences that we could easily have been led to recirculate more emotionally and frequently in our memories afterwards, even though the experiences or scenes might not have happened during any duty while a soldier, Marine or other military person in combat.
But we avoid publicly discussing such matters about ourselves without a possible benefit from doing so. You have a good reason, of course, and I hope that it yields a helpful solution. I do not have a reason to do so.
Remember to be subtle and somewhat passive about suggesting any change. Some people might react adversely to anything more than a suggestion to have a look while conditions are very calm and at least a little on the cheerful side.
Even the healthiest of us tend to see too few options for what we can do next. With no respect for or recognition of the concept of self-esteem, we are what we do.
LORD, in the Name of Jesus, please heal the wounded spirits of this man and others like him. Only God can fix a mess like that. But through the ages, every war has created scenarios such as you relate. Some people have an innate ability to pick themselves up, and carry on, and some don’t. It’s not a character flaw; it just IS. One good that can come from it, is that the knowledge of it can help us to have compassion on others, realizing that if we walked a mile in their shoes, how would WE be affected.
We think this is a very pregnant issue. When things become greatly dramatic, folks with PTSD may be falling like flies all around us needing a lot of caring and attention.
God's best to you and yours.
Right. Thanks. Much appreciated.
Qx believes this can also be a very powerful option. Thanks.
Great points.
Amen!
You’re more than welcome. Will pray that it helps.
Amen to those prayers.
Since I am always connected into volunteer groups, it’s easy for me to round up people to help in odd cases. I love taking care of people. My husband says I should have had ten children. I rope him into helping me.
