National school walkout -- further politicizing schools (vanity)
March 12, 2018 | me

The national school walkout, supposedly to remember the 17 students killed in Florida, but really to push for gun control, is scheduled for 10am Wednesday. My children attend public schools in Massachusetts (yeah, I know), and both the middle school and high school are interrupting the school day to let students walk out. What are schools in your area doing? I bet schools will not allow students to miss school for all political protests (pro-life march or Trump campaign rally, anyone?), so they are taking sides on political issues. This is not new, but it is pretty blatant.

It won't be easy, but we need to reduce government involvement in education.

I see that Pasadena (CA) Unified School District will send kids too. Disgusting.

If I was a teacher I’d schedule a test with no makeup.

Don’t let them walk out

Instead, have them and their Christian friends PRAY in the SCHOOL IMO the deceased

And PRAY for good effective leadership in the LOCAL GOVT, and that the negligent/intentional bad actors there lose their jobs and be held responsible

Good. Lock the doors and do not let them back in.

Khrushchev said he would use our schools to destroy us. Now you see he is succeeding.

If the schools ALLOW it to happen, its not a walk out.... its educational malpractice.

Someone should ask these kids/teachers where their bleeding hearts have been all this time the blacks have been getting killed and maimed and families torn apart in Chicago and Baltimore.

Useful idiots.

But then again that’s what Common Core does to the little uns.

My son’s school (private Baptist high school in FL) has already told the kids, in no uncertain terms, that there will be no walkout.

Turning the little DNC puppets loose to roam the streets and cause mischief. Not a good idea, but hey, it’s Massachusetts. I was born and spent the first ten years of my life in Massachuetts. Those people are crazy.

Having been a teacher for 25 years, I can tell you one thing. School walkouts are not about students wanting social justice. They are about getting out of class with no consequences.

Not only that, but how many students commit suicide every year from bullying but that is not important to them, only their own well being.

And that’s a little further we fall behind the rest of the industrialized world in education.

Well, if any of the “indoctrinators” would sack up and hand out failing grades for walking out............. But someone would sue and win.

One only needs to imagine that the schools would equally allow students out of school to show support for the NRA or pro-life or prayer in schools or even to march for THE FLAG to easily demonstrate that this is all political AND orchestrated.

It’s disgusting and this needs to be shut down.

The school system is arguably the worst problem we have in this country. Where are you Betsy DeVos? Step Up or step down. And take Jeff Sessions with you.

Aren’t walkouts supposed to be acts of civil disobedience? And doesn’t civil disobedience require one to disobey someone?

This is just obedience.
