“there is Islamic terrorism against Kenyans”

Then maybe Kenyan boys need to do something about that. That is not a US problem.

Re: “China is all over Kenya.”

Also Algeria - on the NW Mediterranean Sea coast.

I worked with a woman from Algeria about five years ago. She was a Berber, a Muslim group that claims they are the indigenous people of Algeria.

The Berbers despise the Chinese.

The Berbers also despise the Arab majority and the French colonials.

“China is all over Kenya. Real estate, infrastructure and most importantly, oil and mining prospects.”

Good for them. I sure don’t want to waste American tax dollars all over Kenya on real Estate, Infrastructure, oil or mining.

Yup. Radical muzzies are expanding their control all over the African continent. Not to mention the ChiComms

Western Africa (especially) is the next big hot spot in my estimation.

Re: When is the last time a SoS announced they were sick and it made news?”

Are you referring to a recent event?

Henry Kissinger became “indisposed” while visiting one of China's neighbors in 1971.

He secretly flew into China and set up Nixon's historic visit.

That was truly a shock to Americans in the middle of the Cold War, and it fractured the USSR-China alliance.

Here here. West Africa has become strategically important. Be nice if we could cultivate some good leaders over there but that never works out.

China is trying to get a monopoly on rare earth metals needed for electronics.

Kenya is one source.

their military is involved with fighting the terrorists mainly from Somalia.

Didn’t I hear about 5 months ago that Tillerson had resigned, and was gone already, what is he doing in Kenya?

No government official or secretary will ever be able to top George Herbert Walker Bush’s vomiting upon Prime Minister of Japan, Kiichi Miyazawa. Bad sushi... and given GHWB’s War record he was probably snickering about it for weeks afterward.

Maybe you can't believe everything you hear on CNN.

“I’m searching for a reason to give a rats azz about Kenya. “

There is a never-ending low level economic and culture war going on between the world’s powers. China locks up resources, builds bases, inks defense treaties, gains bases and military equipment clients, etc. Russia, Israel, Iran, Britain, Germany and others are also players. This low level war is also about markets and establishing a positive view for your ideology. And, none of this seems important until it is important, and then it’s too late.

In addition, these remote places are no longer remote. Someone in the remotest village in Africa is a day’s travel from an airport and then just six hours away from a Western capital. That means the time to start the fight against disease in Bonn or DC is a day’s travel from Nairobi’s airport.

I wouldn’t want to invest in that sh^~hole. If China develops anything there, sooner or later, Africans will claim it and take it. Then you have the ongoing muzzle issues. I would consider it a high risk investment.

China, however, has a better chance of success there than we do. If we invested over there and the people wanted to take control of the assets, our government would be pc and just surrender our investments. China would be less pc and mean business.
