So how does this work? Only tariff on raw metal stock? What about machined parts? Manufactured items that contain some metal?

I can only hope there are mechsnisms to keep China from ‘laundering’ their metal through Canada and mexico

Every time I listen to him, he sounds more and more like something we USED TO HAVE!!

It’s called MFN, for most-favored-Nation trading status.

What goes around keeps going around and eventually comes back.

If Americans can’t build it, we’ll do without.

But I’m betting we CAN build whatever we damn well please!

Only on the primary metal. So now metal fabricators have to compete against foreign firms not subject to the tariff.
