Posted on 03/08/2018 6:56:49 AM PST by Altura Ct.
Two members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights say the Obama-era school leniency policy that discourages reports of threatening behavior by minority students to law enforcement is dangerous.
Many schools that have adopted lenient disciplinary policies i.e., defining offenses down so that blacks and Hispanics arent suspended or expelled at significantly higher rates than whites and Asianshave seen marked increases in the number and severity of offenses, attorney Peter Kirsanow, a Republican member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, tells Breitbart News. St. Paul is just one example, but numerous districts across the country have reported spikes in violence against teachers and students, as well as other forms of disruptive behavior.
Students (and teachers) have reported being fearful of going to school, adds Kirsanow, who also chairs the board of directors of the Center for New Black Leadership. One school principal stated unequivocally that the people that are most harmed are the good students who want to learn but are harmed by the chaotic environment.
Similarly, in a paper released in January, U.S. Civil Rights commissioner Gail Heriot, an Independent and a professor of law at the University of San Diego, writes with her colleague, Alison Somin, of the dangers of the Obama-era policy:
The danger should have been obvious. What if an important reason more African-American students were being disciplined than white or Asian students is that more African-American students were misbehaving? And what if the cost of failing to discipline those students primarily falls on their fellow African-American students who are trying to learn amid classroom disorder? Would unleashing OCR and its army of lawyers cause those schools to act carefully and precisely to eliminate only that portion of the discipline gap that was the result of race discrimination?

It is at least partially responsible for Parkland.....................
A very good reason to home school.
Now who would'a thought?
Excerpt: The Reverse Mass Incarceration Act of 2017 was introduced by Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Ct.). The bill, based on a 2015 proposal by the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law, is widely-backed by civil rights advocacy groups and supporters of criminal justice reform.
The Obama legacy will haunt us for decades.
“........the Obama-era school leniency policy that.......”.....
So the policy therefore has created a country full of out of control “animals” who were given free reign to do as they wish. You reap what you sow, the rest of the country is/will suffer the consequences.
SHAME ON THOSE AR 15S
FOR WHAT HAPPENED AT THE PARKSIDE SCHOOL
PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT POLICIES FAILURES THEY
MUST BE HIDDEN
The inability to counter this perverted (they call progressive) agenda created by the democratic party ( in name only) has its goose stepping adherents in the media left make it up as guns and the NRA garbage through their swill mills. When it should be contested by GOP state and federal legislators who should be demanding investigative hearings exposing policy failures
DONT MENTION THIS
Besides examining the conduct and arrangements of the Broward county sheriff’s dept performance failures. A dramatic reduction in disciplinary incidents at Parkside were reported after the selection of Obamas Chicago friend as school superintendent occurred which was publicly acclaimed. And that school district was receiving large grant money from Obamas Attorney General because of those results. That many critics claimed encouraged criminal activity. Which should require Trump Administration US Attorney General beside find out why when the FBI knew that Cruz should not be able to purchase weapons did. And review these grant programs instituted by the previous Obama administration.
