Despite improved Dem showing, Texas GOP sets midterm record
NYPost AP ^ | March 7, 2018

For all the talk of renewed Democratic energy heading into the 2018 midterms, Texas Republicans have set a new benchmark for turnout in a midterm election.

More than 1.5 million people voted Tuesday in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, won by incumbent Ted Cruz. That beats the previous record of 1.48 million in 2010, during former President Barack Obama’s first term.

TX remains Ruby Red.

Every GOP federal and state officeholder will easily win re-election in November.

If anything, TX is far redder today than it was when the GOP took over in the 1994 wave election.

Texas is far redder today than ever.......is a slap in the face to the Halfrican whose dream was to turn Texas blue.

Looks like a lot of his plan and schemes are falling by the wayside.

Couldnt happen to a more heinous guy.

Listening to the radio yesterday and one host said he decided to vote GOP because he wanted to vote some of the rascals out (yep, they pretend to be libertarians but all they do is slam Republicans). He mentioned one voter wore a “Beto” shirt into vote and the other host brought up a lawsuit that said voters should be allowed to wear clothing that endorses a candidate - ignoring decades of electioneering laws.

If given that right, I can tell you exactly what would happen in some precincts - the union thugs would hang out and wait for anyone with clothing endorsing a Republican and then rough them up. Then the geriatric election officials would have to waste time breaking up brawls rather than assisting people with voting. Really a stupid lawsuit.

” precincts - the union thugs would hang out and wait for anyone with clothing endorsing a Republican and then rough them up.”

Uh no. They wouldn’t. Not in Texas. Nobody. Is quite that stupid.

What is right with TX?

Liberals are not welcome and their message is political poison.

With the Democratic Party the way it is, they’d need to broaden their appeal to start winning in Red states.

I don’t see that happening. They have their Far Left base but that’s about it.

I was referring to a Bush winning a primary for whatever he was running for? I would think twice before wishing a Bush on California or Massachusetts.

Just saw Beto O’Rourke spouting gun control on CNN.

He should try running against the NRA back home in TX.

He doesn’t live in CA or NY. Texans won’t send a liberal Democrat to the US Senate.

Texan values are different.

George P. Bush won his primary.

Listening to his ads, you'd have thought George P. Bush was a good-ol-boy, Trump-lovin' Conservative, while his opponent Jerry Patterson was a Hillary-connivin' Left-wing, flag-burning drooler who probably kneeled during the national anthem..

The Dems can crow all they want but this is still Texas. They may flip a House seat or two, but they aren’t going to win a statewide office.

Damned if I know. Other than the fact that the GOP Establishment is still pretty strong, here.
