What?!?! They are willing to DISCUSS it.

Answer’s ‘NO’, but let’s talk it through.

We have no clarity about the “incident” at a nuclear facility in NK where many people died (a cave in). I believe it was reported that a couple of hundred people died(?). After this things have gone rather quiet testing wise.

I’m wondering if key people died and NK has zero capability right now anyway. If they can convince people they do then they could to use it as a bargaining chip. That they’re even making this offer makes me suspicious about their current capability, it’s a radical shift in behavior.

Hopefully the President remembers that prior presidents have ‘been there done that’ with butterballs daddy and grandpa. The US always caved, sent them food, billions of dollars that always came back as more weapons to threaten till the next big coerced payout.

They must be close to finalizing their delivery system.

Pretending to sit at the table will buy them as much time as possible. This could drag on for years—all the while, they will be making incremental changes to their tech.

This will not end well. I give these talks about a 90% chance of failure.

Trump has been an acute observer of the world scene, and was there watching as his predecessors made fools of themselves. I doubt he will be so easily sucked in.

NK has never faced an adversary like Trump. They hardly know what to do about him. The possibility exists that he can do something new just because of who he is— like when to the horrors of the western world he pulled out of the Paris Scam as promised; or when he didnt hesitate to rain missiles on a Syrian airbase after Assad used some chemical weapons: Or when he promised to build a wall, and has begun to build it despite all the naysayers in the establishment; or when he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, to the shock and dismay of the entire world, but with no negative consequences.

Kim may just realize that unlike his feckless predecessors, Trump is not bluffing.

Within days of Trump threatening Red China with tariffs!

Can’t people see what is happening ? Our President is the most masterful statesman this world has ever known- he’s so far ahead of everyone else we have had as president in the last century it is scary

Not good enough.

End the nuclear quest and end the belligerence toward the south and quit demanding “reunification or nothing” and THEN maybe we can talk. Talk is cheap. Act first and then, having changed what can be expected, talks might have a chance.

Of course they are “willing to discuss”, nuclear blackmail has been half of their entire economy for generation. If I was the negotiator I would listen kindly to their offer for “financial aid”. I would then say if you had spent the last 10 Billion dollars we gave you to abandon nuclear weapons on industry other than Nuclear development you would not now need financial aid.

This is my counter offer. Surrender and allow us to remove all Nuclear technology from your nation or we will remove them with nuclear weapons. You have one week.

I would suggest you evacuate all your women and children to China immediately.

Good bye

In this case.

Verify BEFORE Trust.

“I’m sure Obama would be credited.”

I honestly don't know anything positive I would credit Obama for.

They just want their regular game back - paid to attend unending talks, while they continue to secretly advance their program.

Jimmy Carter's freelance diplomacy maneuvered Clinton into a position where he felt he had to make a deal with NK.

The latest World Almanac has a list rating the Presidents. Obama isn't in the top ten but close. Carter is ranked much too high--in the bottom half but several places ahead of GWB (who is by far the lowest-rated of any President who was successful in getting re-elected). Based on a poll of academics, I believe.

Have we learned NOTHING from history? This is TOTAL BS. North Korea is playing the West all over again.

Kim Jun Un is nothing but a rabid Stalinist dictator who will never give up his nukes or power.

You can't believe a word this utterly evil man and his minions say.

Can you blame them for trying? After all, the Kim family were able to con Klintoon, Shrub and Oboogaloo. Their 'protection racket' has worked so well for almost a quarter century, so why not try it once again?
