A lot of conservatives - me included - were fooled by candidate Flake. Sarah Palin endorsed him because he talked so good.
We need to get better evaluating potential candidates. This guy has been a disaster.
Progressives are, in fact, "in touch," because they operate in a universe which requires--in fact, that Progressive universe demands--uniformity and closed-minded identity with ideas that are foreign to the very "spirit of liberty" which gave birth to this nation!
In such a nation where "freedom of conscience," "freedom of speech," "freedom of expression," "freedom of religion," "freedom of individual enterprise," were treasured and rewarded with opportunity, success, and attracting to these shores of oppressed individuals from all over the world, why in the world would a people voluntarily submit to conformity of every vestige of individual freedom because some elected and appointed elites in Washington wished them to submit to such ridiculous bondage, tyranny and oppression?
What was the ultimate motivator of the syndrome, or condition, recently identified as "political correctness"? Was it not the Progressive movement's tyrannical identity politics of separation, division, and castigation of those who held ideas inconsistent with their own ideology--those they deemed to be "deplorables"?
We now know that those who share the "Progressive" ideology are not limited to the Democrat Party; rather, their ideology has allowed, even encouraged, them to embed in many groups, only to emerge when the question is between individual liberties and group think. At that point, the default position of their Progressivism becomes apparent.
