I empathize with the penguin when it comes to the bushes.
I don’t buy into the conspiracy theories with respect to the Kennedy assassination.
Back then, it was a much different country. What we have now might well be subject to more suspicion, but the Warren Report was probably correct.
The loss of confidence in the Warren Report is more symptomatic of the disease than the Report was said to be.
That line of reasoning had a whole lot more merit before Trump allowed the document dump on the Kennedy investigation.
The Warren report is incompatible with the autopsy, which showed bullets entering Kennedy’s body from two directions.
I’d sooner French kiss a Manhattan subway platform, voting for rats is only acceptable when
A)It’s a rat/rat runoff
B)The person is only using the rat ballot line and isn’t actually a rat (like what happened in a PA congressional district last time)
Otherwise, it’s treason against the United States.
Giving Texas rats a statewide elected Hispanic “Star” out of spite towards the Bush family would be turbo retarded, especially given how dead Georgie Boy’s career appears to be.
If you can nay support a Bush then advocating a blank vote or third party wasted voted is a semi-respectable alternative.
Now, I hate to admit it, but Ray LaThug's son actually figured out he needed to pretend to be a good little Republican official and establish a "reliable conservative record" for a few terms UNTIL he becomes an entrenched incumbent and isn't in danger of a primary challenge.
On the flip side, Pee Bush wasn't in office for five seconds before he decided to go AWOL on his electorate and leave the state to campaign for daddy, all while still collecting a taxpayer funded government salary for doing nothing. Sorry Pee, voters notice that sort of thing.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Hope he loses the primary in a blowout.
Exactly. Poppy Bush was involved in the Kennedy assassination. He created two elaborate alibis that confirmed this. And he is the only person alive in the USA at the time who never had any memory where he was that day... even though we all know exactly where he was.
Then he got Nixon indebted to him and was directing his public speeches and behaviors like a don, pretending he was trying to keep him in office, then at the end switched and said leaving is the only choice he had... whoops...
Then of course he had his boss shot by one of his cronies crazy sons. Whoops, jokes on you Poppy, Ronnie lived.
Stay out da bushes.
Former Land Commish Larry Patterson (who lost the primary for LT Governor in 2014) is running against Bush, as are a couple nobodies. Patterson appears to have ties to the Paultard wing of the party but still has my support over Jr. Dauphin.
Pardon me, JERRY Paterson.
Isnt Patterson the guy who refused to endorse Trump even after the Convention and didnt vote for him in the general? Yup. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.chron.com/news/politics/texas/amp/Donald-Trump-Jr-endorses-George-P-Bush-for-Land-12555275.php
I think that President Trump is staying out of the primary, but Donald Jr. has endorsed George P. Bush, who was one of the first prominent TX Republicans to endorse and campaign for Donald Trump in 2016 (after his dad dropped out of the race, of course).
I dont see this primary as such a clear-cut choice. Even if Patterson is more conservative than Bush (which I dont know for a fact; both candidates are claiming to be more conservative and to have a more conservative record), I question Pattersons judgment in not endorsing Trump after the nomination fight was over.
If true, it is very troubling. But Lil’ Shrub has been AWOL from his job, and that alone is a fireable offense. Getting rid of the Bushes is paramount.
Ah crap. I rescind by endorsement and will evaluate the nobodies. ;d
I can’t find any polling except for one back in mid month.
Bush had about 57% in that one but a lot of change potential
may alter that data before the election next Tue., Mar. 6.
Also, I'm 99% certain George Pee only "endorsed" Trump because he "had to" as a Republican running for office in Texas. It wouldn't surprise me if privately, George Pee voted for Hilderbeast like the rest of his relatives. Unfortunately, George Pee's worthless "endorsement" (which had absolutely no effect on the outcome of the Presidential race) fooled a lot of FReepers into thinking Pee is "different from the rest of his family", when that clearly wasn't the case.
I wouldn't advocate openly voting or campaigning for the RAT if Pee wins the nomination (which sounds like cutting off your nose to spit in your face), but to be perfectly honest, if I lived in Texas and the general election "choices" were either George Pee or a RAT, I'd likely left that part of the ballot blank. I don't care if George Pee's opponent is Satan himself, I am sick to death of this guy getting a cushy six-figure salary statewide political job because of his last name.
Paterson is not ideal but Pee Bush is worse. Paterson will never be anything but land commissioner while Pee Bush will try to use the job as a steppingstone to become President. Thats why I voted for Paterson.
Agreed. I remember FReepers making a similar argument to justify voting for Loretta Sanchez over Kamala Harris (Harris has national ambitions but Sanchez won't go beyond California, so we gotta hold our nose and vote for Sanchez)
It's safe to say that Sanchez is 20X worse than Patterson.
I have no qualms about supporting Patterson for a minor statewide office in Texas if it means ending George Pee's political career. Casting a vote for one of the obscure also-rans in the race won't accomplish that. We need Patterson to get more votes than George Pee.
I took 6 people from the senior center to the poll on Saturday to vote for Paterson. Actually, to vote against Bush. I think we can stop him. At least I hope we can.
Good points, but supporting a rocket scientist who wouldn’t back the Presidential nominee (even if Pee’s support was insincere, I kinda prefer that to willful foolishness, you gotta play team ball when the Supreme Court is at stake) gives me heartburn.
At this point I’m not overly worried about Pee winning higher office, if I were perhaps that factor would sway me.
One of those races I’m glad I don’t have to vote on. I would likely cast a vote in the initial primary for one of the others, Texas being a state with runoffs, Davey Edwards seems qualified. I won’t endorse Pee but might say “screw em both” in a potential runoff. Either will have my full support in the general over the true scum.
40 years of Bushism and we aren’t ready to drive a stake in the heart? Bram Stoker warned us.
The Doug HoffmAn district shows why the AlwaysGOP concept don’t work
I don’t see a viable third party candidate so why bring up Hoffman and Dede Scuzzobama? Hoffman was a Republican just not running on the party line (because undemocratically there was no primary) and Scuzzobama was 20 times more liberal than any Bush (and promptly switched to RAT). I fail to see how that comparison holds water to this race.
Never dem concept always works. A statewide elected Hispanic RAT in Texas instantly becomes a national star, unacceptable!
Hoffman lost cuz liberal Republicans voted Dem. They refuse to support our candidates
Conservatives then refrained from support for Doheny in 10 & 12
The alwaysGop philosophy woulda given us Doheny for 30 years
If thee GOP candidate is unacceptable for the office, he should be defeated
