Time to ban libraries obviously.
It wasnt clear if Yao knew the woman, but the suspect was known to police, Ryan said. The womans identity was being withheld until her family could be notified, she added.

Once again, “known to police”. *sigh*
Was it an “assault” type hunting knife?
Then do the right thing and prepare a bonfire to destroy your knife inventory. Video tape it and then post it to You Tube. Don’t forget to call CNN./s
Hunting Knife is a pointless and ambiguous description, but Im sure it tests well on the scary as f$%^ range.

Hunting knife sounds scarier than kitchen knife. A hunting knife is the AR-15 of knives.
Yep, state reps started having fits about crossbows. Not a lot of previously reported crossbow attacks, btw, to justify the attention.
I moved to MA in the early 1980s. In another fit of [unprovoked, this time] road-rage, a guy started careening his vehicle into other cars, stopping traffic flow. He then got out with a meat cleaver, and continued his attack on human beings.
Throw books at him /s
Did the massoftwoshitz police wait until the attack was over? Does the county have a “library to jail” policy to save those who decide to commit a criminal act in a library be protected by the library board?
What is Legal to Own
Balisong knives, also called butterfly knives, are legal to own.
Switchblades and automatic knives are legal to own.
Ballistic knives are legal to own.
Dirks, daggers, stilettos, and push knives are legal to own.
Knives with brass knuckles are legal to own.
Disguised knives like cane knives and lipstick knives are legal to own.
Bowie knives and other large knives are legal to own.
Throwing knives and throwing stars are legal to own.
There is no knife ban in Massachusetts.
Limits on Carry
It is illegal to carry, open or concealed, switchblades, dirks, daggers, stilettos, ballistic knife, double edge knives, and knuckle knives.
It is illegal to carry anything that is perceived as dangerous while disturbing the peace or being arrested. Folding knives, Swiss army knives, and kitchen knives are legal to carry as long as you do not behave in a way that makes them dangerous.

Safer than an “assault” knife, right?
Oh, wait ...
Good thing he didn’t have a ‘robo arm’ that would allow him to thrust 3 more times per minute.
OR are they outlawed?
Just think if there were a sign saying ‘no assaults’ we wouldn’t be having this conversation now...
This bunch of LIBERAL SOBs have started to turn ‘us’ into cold hearted clowns and making us seem ‘unsympathetic’ since ‘we’ have to get our ‘shots in’ before they start their idiocy.
I blame The National Hunting Knife Association.
can’t, unless you have a silencer...have to be quiet in the library

That is more open than UCMJ 134
Does that mean my foot is a dangerous weapon if I kick you in the ass or kick at a cop while being arrested (NOT recommended)
If you yell at someone and are charged with disturbing the peace does that make your vocal chords dangerous weapons?

Yep...I don’t know if it was changed or not but DC could lock you up IF the cop THOUGHT you may have been impaired and in HIS/HER/ITS judgement you may have been ‘impaired’ and blow a .0000001
That sort of makes the cop the judge, jury and executioner if he/she/it should lock someone up in the General Drunk lock up for little or nothing - just a JUDGEMENT call or punishment if he/she/it thought one wasn’t ‘respectful’ enough.
