It’s Too Late – Broward County School Board Beginning to Admit Their Mistakes?…

As expected – buried deep inside a Miami Herald article about the Parkland school shooter, Nikolas Cruz, and a school board questioning their progressive policies, we find the following:

[…] Absent Cruz’s school records, it is hard to say precisely when Cruz’s behavior became an acute problem for teachers and administrators. Disciplinary reports obtained by the Herald show that at Westglades Middle School, which he attended in 2013, he’d been cited numerous times for disrupting class, unruly behavior, insulting or profane language, profanity toward staff, disobedience and other rules violations.

Records show the behaviors continued at Marjory Stoneman Douglas [High School], which he attended in 2016 and 2017 before being transferred, with discipline being dispensed for fighting, profanity, and an “assault.” It appears the Jan. 19, 2017 assault resulted in a referral for a “threat assessment.” A few months later, Cruz landed at an Off Campus Learning Center, where he remained for only about five months. Well, there it is.

This is what Jack Cashill was writing about yesterday: “Did the Progressive ‘Broward County Solution’ Cost 17 Student Lives?” –

Yes Jack, yes it did.

Then why aren’t these students demanding answers from the School Board?

Or the FBI?

Just seeing them with Trump annoyed me.

It’s not too late to be honest about the neglect.

Broward County (Parkland school district), used to lead the state in sending students to the juvenile justice system.

The perfect progressive solution? “artificially lower arrest stats by NOT making arrests.”

Pressure came from “multiple sources: reduce the “racist” disparity of serial black and Hispanic arrests and almost non-existent white and Asian student arrests.

Sure, 17 kids died.....but the most important thing is liberals still “feel good” about themselves.

The school board didn’t do anything wrong.

They are just the school board.

Because the school board, administrators and teachers are pulling a Nero. When you're to blame, attempt to deflect the blame onto someone else who you hate.

I lived in Broward for many years. I received my primary and secondary education in public schools there.

In 2009, you may recall that Obama addressed all elementary schools in the country via closed circuit TV. Broward County was the only district in the country where attendance was mandatory. I sent an email to my district’s school board member, Beverly Gallagher, to object to students being required to view obama’s speech, especially since we were the only district requiring attendance. She responded with a nasty, insulting screed questioning my patriotism and lecturing me on “civics.” She also cc’ed all other school board members and a lot of other politicians, judges, basically the whole Broward County Commucrat power structure.

Well, the very next year, Gallagher was copping a plea to public corruption charges, having accepted bribes from a developer.......which she was doing at the very same time she was piously lecturing me about civics. And she wasn’t even very smart about it....taking cash under the table (literally) in a doggie bag at Applebee’s.

Well, I found her emai and answered it, asking if there was a course in remedial civics in prison. Of course, I knew she’d never see it. But you know who did? All those low life’s that she had copied on her email to me got a copy of my message to her. It was soooooo sweet.

One of her cohorts, Stephanie Kraft, was convicted in 2014 of similar but less sever charges and was given probation.

The takeaway: The Broward County School Board has not been about education for decades. It’s been about 100% Democrst political patronage and controlling the money that fuels one of the biggest school districts in the country.

??????

If they had terrible policies that (by design) mis-handled cases of troubled and difficult students, then YES, they did plenty wrong.

With any luck an entire school of shark-like lawyers is now aware of this and discretely seeking out plaintiffs.

I am thinking that 17 wrongful death plus however many injury claims agains the school board for their clearly illegal racial quotas on discipline might send a message to all the other schools in the US.

The only real problem is that just one BLM type on a jury could be an issue.

ha, I love that you included her own “cc” list in your subsequent response about “remedial civics in prison.”

I doubt any of those Commucrats will learn anything, except maybe to be more careful about not getting caught.

Like I said in the last day or two here - this may cost Broward County School District and other Broward county agencies into the billions. They had numerous warnings over the years. They did not try to make the place safer - they manipulated the rules and the law to make if less safe.
If lawsuits are filed for this and they go to trial it might be similar to the Big Tobacco trials.

Another sad thing is that any trials will be used for virtue-posturing and to push the legislature to pass more gun-grabber laws.

Is it their job to ask “why”? They are to diagnose psychiatric/behavioral problems, since they are so good at teaching things like arithmetic and reading and of course history?

The whole thing about developing a “procedure” is to NOT ask “why?” but to check off items on a checklist so that a uniform treatment (not meaning medical nor psychiatric) is performed when the conditions merit. When an engine is worn out and requires rebuilding, it is pulled out of the car and gross dirt hosed or steamed off. It then enters a procedure where accessory parts are removed such as starter, alternator; then heads, then valve covers, whatever. Etc; etc; etc; At each step, the one doing the work in not asking “why?”, they are completing one step and moving to the next.

The best part will be that the school board members will probably be sued individually.

If the school would have had him arrested for violence, the record would have probably prevented him from the gun purchase. Instead, they moved him around like they used to move priests around. School mostly to blame IMHO.
