US President Donald Trump has said arming teachers could prevent school shootings like that which left 17 people dead last week in Florida.
A staff member with a gun could end an attack "very quickly", he said.
Mr Trump floated the proposal as emotional survivors of the 14 February massacre implored him to make sure it never happens again.
The Republican president also backed calls for improved background checks on gun buyers.

How about just allowing teachers with CCW permits to not be sitting ducks for deranged madmen with no regard for their no guns allowed signs. Revolutionary idea, I know.
If they have armed guards to protect politicians and celebrities...why not kids?

I personally don’t believe that arming teachers goes far enough, but I like it.
I want trained, armed, professional men in every, single school in America.
I also want physical fortifications and security measures.
I am not willing to entertain the non-solution of gun control and “defense-free kill zones”.
This is America, and Americans have the right to bears arms and to defend ourselves.
So let us bear our arms and defend ourselves.
We are not sitting ducks that hide under desks and throw canned food at attackers.
That is not who we are.
It should, and I assume would, be volunteers who would have extra training in gun use and tactics.
Now that Trump has listened to the other side, the victims/parents, and even offered a proposal (a measly memo to "Sleepy" Sessions) that does diddly squat to gun rights in the end, he shows his cards that will now dominate the news cycle and drown out the kids being exploited by Pappa Soros.

If the Israelis have armed teachers and school guards, why can’t we?

Armed teachers represents an important target hardening against terrorist attack as well.
Most teachers are liberal nut jobs, who crack up at a moments notice, handing crazy lunitic teachers guns is a bad idea. Armed Marshals and metal detectors may be a more sane solution.
