Posted on 02/19/2018 9:45:41 AM PST by Lera
Mexican authorities have confirmed the discovery of an active improvised explosive device (IED) at one of the international bridges connecting the border cities of Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipasthe headquarters of the ruthless cartel known as Los Zetas.
Mexicos Attorney Generals Office issued a statement in regards to the recent discovery of the IED. The information released by Mexican authorities does not reveal the date that the bomb was left at the bridge, but confirmed that the explosive was active. The IED was left at the Las Americas International Bridge, also known as Bridge One. Neither the City of Laredo nor U.S. Customs and Border Protection has released any information in relation to the IED at the port of entry.
Mexican authorities de-activated the explosive device and removed it from the pedestrian lane of the bridge. While bomb threats are not unheard of at the various international bridges in Tamaulipas where cartels often flex their muscle; the discovery of an actual explosive device at the bridge is a first of its kind.

Prove it was not the Chinese in a fit of jealous rage ...
Proof that we need to ban guns.
Enough Iranian IED’s on the other side and no one will want to risk leaving Mexico...lol
Where’s the video? It didn’t get there on it’s own.
Was that to inhibit ingress or egress? Only a progressive knows for sure.
That’s what the media and the pundits will say.
If this were a plot from a CBS procedural, the perps would undoubtedly be militia-types.
It sounds like someone is taking common-sense Immigration Control into their own hands! LOL!
Well it definitely sounds like we have a Military force on the Texas border that is swimming(Wading or crawling) across the River and planting explosives. (Notice not on our side of bridge)
Anyone seen CDR Shears(USN) or Lt Joyce (RCA)??
‘The Madness, The Madness’
How much worse can Mexico become? Read here yesterday that the Catholic Church has pulled out of a town near Acapulco because it has become too dangerous. I have wanted to drive from Texas to Panama to begin my retirement in a few years and a lot of folks say “don’t do it, it’s not safe”.
Reports like these make you wonder.
Whatever happened to the word "bomb"?
A bomb is a manufactured device that is normally dropped from an aircraft. A makeshift device may share none of the characteristics of a bomb, besides the fact that they explode.
Although, I think most people do not know the difference, nor do they care. We have a lot of police who think they are Captain America.
My son in law is a State Trooper. I often have to comment to him that I am not a civilian, I am his wife’s father. He doesn’t have to talk that way when he isn’t working. It was nice at first...then it got tedious.
I guess they just try to be precise. If they called it a bomb people would be asking who dropped it. They can’t win.
How about buying a boat and floating down to Panama. Then if things don’t work out, you can set sail for another friendlier port.
We can’t do that in Texas because we have too many guns and the boat won’t float. We lose a lot of guns and ammo due to sinking boat accidents.
We do manage to salvage and repair most of the boats as fast as we can. So if you need a boat, come on down. You can see them this time of year (when the grass is lower) scattered around in front yards, back yards, and pastures of our more rural property owners. If you want a heads up to the best selections, check with local fire departments, they know where to send you. BTW you might find an RV or two for sale by owner.
OTH you might get lucky and find one laying in a lake or creek bed during the drought season. Of course RV’s are harder to find in these scenarios but it could happen.
One final word of advice, watch out for rattlesnakes and other creatures who love to nest in them. Same for RV’s except be sure there’s noone living in them because the occupants will probably be locked and loaded.

Worse Than Gunwalker? State Dept. Allegedly Sold Guns to Zetas
Phil Jordan, a former CIA operative and one-time leader of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administrations El Paso Intelligence Center, claims that the Obama administration is running guns to the violent Zetas cartel through the direct commercial sale of military grade weapons:
Jordan, who served as director of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administrations El Paso Intelligence Center in 1995, said the Zetas have shipped large amounts of weapons purchased in the Dallas area through El Paso.
Theyve found anti-aircraft weapons and hand grenades from the Vietnam War era, Plumlee said. Other weapons found include grenade launchers, assault rifles, handguns and military gear including night-vision goggles and body armor.
More about State Department involvement...
has sources claiming Obamas man in the State Department, (former) Deputy Secretary of State Jim Steinberg, was the State Department operative who helped Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and the Department of Justice Deputy Attorney General David Ogden formulate the strategy that led to the tactics used in Operation Fast and Furious.
A little more than two years later, it was announced that Steinberg's time in the Obama State Department was over. From the New York Times, 30 March 2011:
Mrs. Clinton heaped praise on Mr. Steinberg, describing him as an indispensable partner. On every foreign policy challenge, big and small, he has helped formulate our policy and oversee its execution, she wrote. Mr. Steinberg, she said, played Oscar to Jack Lews Felix, referring to Jacob J. Lew, her other deputy, who left earlier this year to become Mr. Obamas budget director.
