Mohamed Rafik Naji, Brooklyn man, admits attempting to aid ISIS

Mohamed Rafik Naji, a Yemen-born New York City resident, pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to one count of attempting to provide support to the Islamic State terror group, also known as ISIS.

“I traveled to Yemen in 2015 to join ISIS and I encouraged another person to join,” Naji told U.S. District Judge Frederic Block during a hearing in Brooklyn federal court, Reuters reported.

Naji, 38, faces a maximum term of 20-years behind bars when he’s sentenced at a later date, the Department of Justice said in a press release.

Naji began publicly expressing support for ISIS on social media starting in December 2014, and in March 2015 he traveled from New York to Yemen in an attempt to join its ranks, according to court documents.

Mohamed deserves every bit of 20 years in max and then deportation to the hole he came from.

Yep what’s up with that? He’s not a Brooklyn man. He’s a foreigner and self admitted ISIS operative.

Naji is a legal permanent U.S. resident and risks deportation as a result of his guilty plea, Reuters reported.

Yup, not a citizen. Needs to be deported ASAP and shot on sight if he tries to return.

It's funny that this otherwise innocent man follows the dictates of his religion (which religion is not illegal)...and he is arrested.

Before ya'll get your panties in a knot...shouldn't his religion also be arrested (i.e. deemed illegal to the extent it calls for the violation of U.S. laws).

It ain’t funny to me and it’s debatable whether Islam is a religion.

Forget Yemen, him trying to plan a terrorist attack in Times Square is not legal no matter what a persons ‘religion’ is.

Arresting this guy is nickels and dimes.

The real problem is Islam and its call for jihad.

We need to go to the heart of this problem.

BTW there are non-violent forms of Islam...even mystical forms of Islam (Sufi Islam).

We just need to outlaw those forms which violate our laws by their very nature.

Islam is indeed a religion at its heart. It's Satanic and Muhammed was obviously possessed by some kind of demon.

That said, Mohammed was possessed by a very effective demon...one who didn't overplay his hand (i.e. no levitating and barfing pea soup).

I would agree with that.

At the same time I’ve a hunch that outlawing the radical forms of Islam is easier said than done.

The radicals are willing to lie and die for Muhammad and I imagine passing a law won’t deter them.

"Mohamed Rafik Naji, a Yemen-born New York City resident"

A resident?

Was he ever in this country legally?

Why is he in this country? A dreamer? Let’s stop the insanity of our immigration policy that allows dangerous persons into the USA.

You’re welcome, even though he’s here legally he definitely shouldn’t be.

So we’re going to pay for 20yrs of “culturally-sensityive” meals for the lowlife POS? Probably so. Take him out behind the prison, put a .45cal in his head, and throw the carcass in a dumpster. Maggots gotta eat, too.
