Cook County Jail inmates applaud for suspect in Chicago cop's killing

Cook County Jail officials said they planned to take action after several inmates clapped as the suspected killer of Cmdr. Paul Bauer was escorted from his first court hearing on Thursday.
Jail officials said they were going to forward video of the "despicable" action by up to five inmates to prosecutors so it could be considered in any potential sentencing. None of the inmates have faced trials yet. The officials also intend to transfer those inmates to jails outside Cook County.
The inmates were among 25 detainees in a bullpen waiting to see a judge after Shomari Legghette’s hearing, according to Cara Smith, chief policy officer for Sheriff Tom Dart. The area is between the court complex and the jail, a place called the bridge.

How is that action any different than the Dems not applauding during the State if the Union when the President was honoring people?
Maybe if Sheriff Tom Dart buys them more pizza they will behave better.
It’s not. It’s similar to, say, not standing for the flag or anthem. First amendment. Leave them cons alone.
Adding another 10 years to their sentences would be appropriate.....Oh wait, that is in Illinois.......never mind, there are not conservative judges there.

I agree. These guys are scum. But their right to freely communicate to the world just how scummy they are, is still protected.

As far as I can tell nobody is taking away their precious 1A rights, but certain types of speech can have consequences, as they may be about to experience.
