Putin mentioned the call with Trump at the start of his meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Monday.
He said: "Naturally we spoke about the Palestinian-Israeli settlement" and told Abbas: "I would like to convey to you his best wishes."
Putin met Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu exactly two weeks ago in Moscow. Russia has managed to maintain robust relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority government, as well as Israeli rivals Syria and Iran.

Fine, screw the Pali-Nazis. Abbas can dwell in his terror cesspool with no more funds or assistance from the USA.... and soon we’d better cut them off from the UN, too, or else we cut off our funding to the UN.
Prayers for Iranian protesters and the overthrow of that regime.
And prayers for meaningful opposition leaders to emerge out of Russia to challenge Putin.

I think President Trump just trolled Mahmoud Abbas by calling Putin to “convey his best wishes to Mr. Abbas.” Letting him know that He is in charge and nothing will come to pass without President Trump and the US agreeing.
Abbas should sell the plane....
I am absolutely positive that Vladimir Putin had a really rough time keeping a straight face as he gave Abbas Trump’s message—if Trump even asked him to pass on such a message. How many FReepers think that Putin put the phone down and then proceeded to crack up?

Taking money from our government or charities organized under our laws is a form of cooperation. Let the chips fall where they may.
No need to be nasty if it doesn’t serve a purpose. Maybe you get a tiny bit more, or avoid a tiny bit of cost, just by keeping it civil.
Have all US diplomats, when Abbas calls, answer the phone “This is Arnold Rimmer, I’m here to help you through your depressing times.”
Putin has a sense of humor.
No sane decent people on earth give a sheeet about abbas or his terrorist murder gang or the Fakestinians anymore Even Putin (who is not stupid) realizes that “ if you handle sheeeet, you’ll smear your hands”. Best to let abbas GTH and the Fakestinians return to Moslem-conquered countries
Guaranteed Putin had a chuckle. Different men though they may be, both Putin and Trump are realists who don’t buy into the crap being offered by “World Leaders” (in the mainstream media’s estimation) like Abbas. The adults are asserting themselves, entertainingly.
“Best wishes” is what my wife used to say to me back when she was my girlfriend if she wanted to break up.
Abbas is waiting for the Hamas/Hezbuallah takeover of the PLO, hoping he can make it out alive and live off his Swiss bank accounts somewhere safe.
