Regarding illegals I’d have to go to Old Testament precedent. The Gibeonites dishonestly made entry into covenant with the Hebrews under Joshua in 9th Chapter. For that matter the central theme of almost all the prophets is about the danger of letting foreigners come into your land and continue to worship their gods. Seems to me, even the book of Esther demonstrates the danger of foreigners being allowed to worship their God.
