McConnell Bows to Schumer: Budget Contains No Reconciliation Instructions for Obamacare Repeal

On the day of the latest government shutdown, Congress passed a two-year $300 billion, 652-page budget under 18 hours, much to the dismay of conservatives.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) struck a deal on Wednesday to fund the government for two years, featuring substantial increases in domestic and defense spending. Both the House and Senate passed the $300 billion two-year budget on Friday morning, halting a temporary government shutdown.

The House passed a stop-gap spending bill on Tuesday that funded the government through March 23; the bill funded the Defense Department for one year and financed community health centers for two years.

The Senate Appropriations Committee released the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 around 12:00 a.m. on February 7 and McConnell began the procedure to start voting on the budget around 6:00 p.m. on February 8, leaving roughly 18 hours for members of Congress to read the bill.

How do we get rid of McTurtle? WHY is this guy bowing to any RAT? Just goes to prove how badly the GOP lies to "WE THE PEOPLE" so they can continue their incumbancy. The GOP NEVER HAD ANY INTENTION of repealing Obamacare.

Mitch is a spineless dweeb who hates confrontation.

But we cannot ignore the fact that there are not enough conservatives in the Senate to pass a conservative budget.

The Republican party *IS* the party of big government, crony capitalism, and corporatism.
The ignorance level of these facts among “republican voters” is staggering.

Go, team, go!
Go, team, go!
Go, team, go!

Schumer and McConnell are part of the same problem. It’s not about politics, it’s about corruption.

LOL - they’re pretending the Republicans would have repealed Obamacare if not for this?

Breitbart is trash.

“WHY is this guy bowing to any RAT?”

There was no bowing involved...both got what they wanted.

And, Americans will suffer.

Breitbart is crap.

The budget deal repealed the death panels in Obamacare. Piece by piece, that law is being dismantled. No more mandate, no more death panels.

A “$300 billion, two-year budget” (headline)? So $150 billion per year? In other words, they shrank the government by 97%? Ooh-rah!, WINNING!

(Yeah, I know it’s a $300 billion increase, but gotta love that headline!)

McConnell Bows to Schumer: Budget Contains No Reconciliation Instructions for Obamacare Repeal

The headline implies the Republicans wanted to get rid of it in the first place. They didn't.

McConnell isn’t the real problem here. There are at least a dozen Republicans in the Senate who are 100% behind most of ObamaCare’s provisions.

The massive debt is only a symptom of what is wrong with our gov.
The real problem is our “representatives” who pretend (lack honesty..integrity...principles) to be on our side until they snooker their way into office.
Then they put on a little act that they are powerless to stop the dims.
When in reality they are more than happy to be second place.
The pay and benefits are the same.
Do the some interviews..maybe write a book.
Line a job working for a lobby once you put in your 16÷ years.

Bending over is what McConnell does best - too bad it’s the People who get the real reaming.

Has anyone else here noticed that Google recognized McConnell's surrender by honoring him with the Google-Doodle today?

All that's missing is the post.

We could never get the 60 votes for a full repeal....and there was NEVER any intention by President Trump to get rid of it in a full and complete Repeal.

It has to be done in pieces and it is.
