YPJ Spokeswoman: Turkey intends to perpetrate a genocide in Afrin
ANF News - STOCKHOLM ^ | Friday, 9 Feb 2018, 14:40 | MURAT KUSEYRI

YPJ spokeswoman and commander Nesrin Abdullah is in Stockholm for diplomatic talks.

Speaking at a press conference in the Swedish parliament, Nesrin Abdullah, spokeswoman and commander for the Women's Defense Units (YPJ) in Rojava, drew attention to the Turkish regime's intention to carry out a genocide on the population in Afrin with jihadist militias.

Nesrin Abdullah explained to numerous journalists that in Afrin so far, a peaceful coexistence of different ethnic groups and faiths has taken place. "For 20 days, the NATO member Turkey has been attacking Afrin in front of the world public. These attacks are contrary to international law. The supposed security interests of Turkey are not right. We demand that the Turkish state provide evidence that we have attacked Turkey. We are the ones who are attacked and the civilian population suffers the most. According to our information, 148 civilians have been killed by the Turkish attacks. Many of the dead are women and children, "said the YPJ spokeswoman.

Furthermore, more than 300 civilians were injured and 77 militants of the Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD) fell as martyrs. "These attacks are carried out with weapons from NATO countries," said Nesrin Abdullah.

Three days ago there were indications that the Turkish military had used the chemical Sarin gas, continued the commander. As fighting continued in the region, no detailed investigations could take place yet.

Furthermore, Nesrin Abdullah denied the claims of Turkey that the YPG / YPJ had attacked refugee camps and Turkish towns such as Kilis and Reyhanli with mortar shells. Rather, there is evidence of Turkey's support for ISIS: "We captured about forty ISIS members who testified that they had crossed inyo Syria with the consent of the Turkish state."

Showing images of Turkish attacks against historical structures, dams and water wells, Abdullah said: “Children cannot attend classes because they attack schools as well. The Alevis, Christian population and churches in the region also suffer from the attacks of the Turkish state. We have concerns over a probable massacre against the Christian people in the event that Turkey and ISIS enter Afrin.

Speaking after YPJ Spokeswoman, Greens MP and Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission member Walter Mutt described YPG/YPJ fighters as heroes of today. Mutt said; “The Turkish state attacks not only Afrin but also all humanity, basic principles of international law and the international judicial system. For this reason, Sweden, the European Union and United Nations Security Council should manifest a strong stand to stop Turkey’s state terror.

Mutt underlined that the Greens and all pro-peace circles in Sweden are with the people of Afrin and fighters of the YPG/YPJ.

Abdullah was then interviewed by Swedish News Agency TT, Swedish State Television, Tv 4, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet newspapers.

Answering Swedish News Agency TT’s questions about the foreign ISIS members in Syria, YPJ spokeswoman said they hold about 300 ISIS members from 40 countries as prisoners.

Abdullah said they do not recognize these ISIS members as prisoners of war because they took part in acts of terrorism, and demanded that European countries accept these ISIS members from their countries and put them on trial.

Remarking that the captured ISIS members are held in special prisons, Abdullah said; “These are a great problem to us. We do not know what to do with them. According to our constitution, they cannot be sentenced to death penalty. They will remain in prison. We cannot release them because they will constitute a global threat for everyone in the world.”

Abdullah added that Swedish and Swiss citizens are among the ISIS members held in prisons.

Nesrin Abdullah is a well know Syrian Kurd YPJ commander. She has been in the leadership a long time. I was surprised to learn she was in Stockholm.

She is a good choice for this, I've read a number of her articles over the past 3 years. She is a very thoughtful and kind person (her expression with the photos shows it is painful for her). She has been close to the decision making from the beginning and knows well what has happened.

I wish her and the SDF good results from this trip.

And the world just watches, or not even that.

6 million Jews died in vain because from Rwanda to Syria, nothing’s changed.

And I think Armenians were mass murdered too at one point.

ONLY picture i’ve ever seen that i can’t get out of my head is the girls lined up on crosses.

Yes, I saw it. But to see it voiced in Stockholm, before the the Swedish parliament please me.

I admit the Leftist portion of the Swedish Parliament is what is driving this. I’m not leftist in the least, but these are good people. Our soldiers who fight with them have known this a long time.

The butchery by ISIS and now of Erdogan’s Turkey has been sickening to observe, even from afar.

The world must be made to understand this and call it to a halt. It has been going on in the Middle East a very long time.

Nesrin is a very good person. Like Rojda and several others I won’t specifically list. I don’t know either of the 2 that I mentioned, just about them. The ones I do know (not in person) from many communications have vented to me enough to somewhat appreciate how truly difficult this has been on them. Yet they remain human, unlike the Islamist Jihadi’s.

Yes, a most evil image.

Seeing something like that can never be erased.

The mind is like film in a camera for those things.

......”The butchery by ISIS and now of Erdogan’s Turkey has been sickening to observe, even from afar”......

They easily could very well be one in the same....wearing a suit and living in a palace doesn’t make one any less vile and full of hatred and violence.

Good post. Thanks.

I understand some freepers don’t like a certain Kurdish group that is communist in nature, but that pales compared to what is being done to the Kurdish people.

We need to kick Turkey out of NATO like yesterday.

The Russians are fine with this.

I am glad they kept the ISIS fight going until Trump got elected but they are not our friends.

She better be careful. In Paris women Kurd activists have recently been mysteriously murdered. You can see their posters on city hall there.

There is something about the collectivist mindset of the feminine that makes the YPJ inherently successful as socialists. That being said, claiming as a universal right of freedom is pushing it far.

Real freedom is not a collectivizing “right” like this. In essence the Kurds have flipped the second amendment, regulating arms for the rights of the militia. Note that islamists have themselves collectivized women but by force have classified them at the bottom of their caste system. Kurds have been donned some powerful sheep clothing by letting women express their own collectivizing enthusiasm unfettered.

It reall is a catch 22 situation

Yes, he shelters ISIS members in Turkey and they are in his FSA militia’s. We have already seen their trademark butchery.

Both ISIS and al Qaeda are scattered in the FSA.

And the leadership of the Turkish government make excuses for ISIS, they do it publicly.

The hate they preach is exactly the same.

Yep. I was incensed of late with liberals wanting to do a Tienanmen antic of blocking Trump’s military parade, because obviously these mother effer liberals care not to remember the Chinese massacred at all but to hijack it for their own agenda.

I am disgusted by liberals.

It is one thing to develop a socialist caste system, aka Nazism, it becomes plain obvious their perverted disgusting narcissism of easily dumping the memory of massacred Chinese for their own attention getting as thugs. That antic might as well have been manufactured by the muderers of Tienanmen themelves

I'm familiar with what they advocate and say. But it is not just Kurds that are affected. There are thousands of young Arab women who have joined the YPJ. They don't want to be treated like they have been.

I get revolted when some idiot spews the Che’ nonsense. It exposes ignorance of what he was. Yes that is a Leftist (some Communist) mindset.

But the Syrian Kurds are more pragmatic than that. They are not focused on religious bias. They advocate a totally secular state. But they understand that ISIS and al Qaeda and Turkey under Erdogan the Islamist will never allow freedom to exist. If they did, they would soon be deposed.

Same is true in Iran.

The community structure in Rojava is somewhat communal. But think about this, they are poor and the governments uses existing financial system to enslave them. I know that the leaders of the PKK are leftist, but the Syrian Kurds are not ideological. They are kind people. I've seen it in actions and in deeds.

Iraqi Kurds are not like Syrian Kurds. Iraq Kurds are not leftist, but a very high percentage of them are Muslim. (some not very religious)

She better be careful.

Yes, but Stockholm is a much safer place than where she has been and fought ISIS in. Did you follow the weeks and months these ladies fought to stay alive in Kobani? Stockholm will be a vacation from the butchery of the enemy. These are not like US feminists, they stood in Kobani when the men were mostly gone. They new the consequences of failing, they knew what ISIS did to women. Strong motivation. These women are good soldiers. Lots of dead ISIS learned that.

It has been quite a while, but these are some excellent pictures of another well known YPJ commander.

Jihadi’s killed a lot of her family, at a wedding. She has pursued them ever since.

Photo of Rojda is by Joel L. Great photographer in Syria region.

Welcome to Raqqa https://joeyl.com/blog/all/post/welcome-to-raqqa (Commander: Rojda Felat) her pictures begin about 1/3 of the way through the frames.

Because it’s Islam pushing the killing this time around, and there’s more than just a couple countries full of it.

We have had joint exercises with Israel. What would happen if we did a joint mission against the Turds?
