Donald Trump Jr. tweets his support for George P. Bush’s re-election

Donald Trump Jr. Tuesday tweeted his support for Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush in his Republican primary campaign against his predecessor, Jerry Patterson, whose son is one of the pilots of Marine One, the Marine Corps helicopter that transports President Donald Trump.

In the tweet, the president’s son says that, “Elections are about choices. In 2016, @GeorgePBush endorsed @realDonaldTrump and campaigned for him. His opponent attacked Trump and urged him quit the race. Texas conservatives have a clear choice: Bush for Texas Land Commissioner.”

Bush responded with his own tweet, “Thank you @DonaldJTrumpJr —we’re working hard alongside @realDonaldTrump conservative agenda in Texas to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.”

Last Tuesday, the night of the State of the Union, Bush tweeted, “In 2016, I endorsed Donald Trump and campaigned for him because I believed he could help #MAGA. Tonight in his #SOTU he again showed why our country needed new direction. @txglo, I am enacting conservative reforms and working alongside the Trump agenda—thank you @POTUS”

Bush, the grandson of President George H.W. Bush and the nephew of George W. Bush, is the last member of the family dynasty to hold political office. He is the son of Jeb Bush, who was the front-runner for the Republican nomination for president in 2016 until Donald Trump, belittling him as “Low Energy Jeb,” came along.

Patterson was not enamored with Trump, wrote in Evan McMullin, a Utah conservative, who ran as a anti-Trump independent, for president in 2016, and decided not to run for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission that year because he found the prospect of running on a ticket headed by Trump unappealing.

“I didn’t know if that was something I could do if Trump were the nominee and I had to defend him,” Patterson said Tuesday.

Patterson has since formed a somewhat more positive impression of Trump thanks to his son, Lt. Col. Travis Lee Patterson.

“My son is one of his pilots on Marine One and has very good things to say about him and his demeanor as the commander-in-chief,” Patterson said.

Also, Patterson said, “Trump’s appointments, with one or two exceptions, have been sterling.”

“It proves that even people our age, and Donald are I the same age, can grow up and I’m working on it myself,” Patterson said.

Of the exchange of tweets between Donald Trump Jr. and George P. Bush, Patterson said, “What that tells me is that Bush is extremely concerned and I don’t know how that can be because he put out a poll that said I only had 4 percent.”

Based on what is written here about the senior Patterson, I’d say he’s managed to step on his extremity. I hate the Booshes, but sometimes the enemy of my enemy gets to be my friend (for a moment or two if it serves a useful purpose).

Meh. You know it’s going to be an incestuous lot for a little while longer. ;)

And seriously? If we’re HONEST about it, aren’t ALL of our children kinda DUMB until they totally, ‘Get It?’ I spent a LOT of time and energy ‘de-programming’ my boys EACH AND EVERY DAY while they were in Public Junior and High School!

It’s an up-hill battle until they start earning a living and start paying their own taxes. If these quotes by Donald Jr. are TRUE, I’d just assume it takes these wealthy little pissants a tad longer to get there. ;)

Here ya go, from the Texas Tribune- Dec 14, 2015:

“Patterson, Declining to Run for Railroad Commission, Knocks Trump

Former Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson is not running for state railroad commissioner, and he says that Donald Trump has something to do with that. Patterson was one of several high-profile Republicans flirting late last week with a bid for David Porter’s open seat on the three-member Texas Railroad Commission, which regulates oil and gas production.

“I also believe a nominee of the Republican Party should be able to enthusiastically support all other Republican nominees. With the possible if not probable nomination of Donald Trump for President by my party, I could not do that,” Patterson said. “Telling Trump supporters that they should vote for Jerry Patterson while simultaneously opining that anybody who votes for Trump is an idiot is not a good formula for success.”

Trump’s Texas spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. —snip—

Yep - the "Little Brown One", as his grandfather once dubbed him. P's campaign leaflet arrived in my mailbox yesterday. It went directly into the kitchen trash can.

Bush family = so tight with the Clintons that Bill is called “SON” by George H. W. Bush, when WJC visits.

DISGUSTING.

I will NEVER vote for a Bush and it’s scary that this was tweeted.

No. More. Bushes. Please.

Nonsense! In America, people are ideally judged as individualsnot just by their family name. George P. Bush—unlike his father Jeb—supported President Trump's candidacy, and has been a staunch advocate for the President's agenda in Texas.

Supporting Donald Trump couldn't have been easy for George P., considering his father's savage attacks on the man. Therefore, George P. Bush very much deserves to be supported—based on his policies and politics, not his last name. He strongly supports the the President, #MAGA, and #DrainTheSwamp, and I'm glad that Don Jr. has returned the favor.

Also, George P.—being half Mexican—knows that vile "racism" smears against President Trump are patently false&mdash, and he furnishes a compelling example of that fact.

One. More. Bush. Please.

Vote George P. Bush!

LOL. What "conservative reforms" is George P Bush enacting in Texas????? It seems like he's using his position to enrich himself by doling out contracts to cronies.

I agree. The temptation is to say ‘No Bushes ever again!!”.
George P. has been supportive of Trump all along. You know that could not have gone down well with Dad Jeb! or Poppy Bush.

It is Land Commissioner....a nothing job. Not even sure why we have it. I don’t care enough about it. If Trump jr, endorsed him for Texas Governor then I’d be concerned.

Are any of you in Texas?

George P is a Carpetbagger.

George P fired long time hardworking employees, and brought in his college buddies to fill jobs at the LC offices.

His Alamo project is less than popular. My Mom is in the DRT.

He spent a year campaigning for Jeb! while drawing a salary paid for by Texans.

When JimRob, Lloyd Marcus, etc came to the Alamo for a rally, Jerry Patterson was there in support.

Patterson was always very good with the Texas Veterans Land Program. I never see George P promoting it or doing Veteran’s Outreach.

I voted for Patterson in the Primary, and left Land Commissioner unmarked in the General.
