Nunes: House panel looking at State Dept. involvement in Russia probe
The Hill ^ | 2/2/18 | Max Greenwood

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) revealed Friday that Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee would examine other agencies, including the State Department, after releasing a controversial memo alleging surveillance abuses.

Speaking on Fox News just hours after Republicans on the committee released a memo alleging surveillance abuses by the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ), Nunes said the panel was moving to "phase two" of its investigation.

"We are in the middle of what I call phase two of our investigation, which involves other departments, specifically the State Department and some of the involvement that they had in this," Nunes said.

"That investigation is ongoing and we continue work towards finding answers and asking the right questions to try to get to the bottom of what exactly the State Department was up to in terms of this Russia investigation."

Nunes was asked whether his panel would be releasing additional memos as part of their probe after the White House declassified information to allow Nunes to release a memo alleging that senior FBI and DOJ officials abused their powers to spy on members of President Trump’s campaign.

It’s unclear what role, if any, the State Department played in the law enforcement investigation into whether members of the Trump campaign collaborated with Russia amid Moscow's efforts to sway the 2016 presidential election.

The decision to release the Nunes memo regarding the FBI and DOJ was highly controversial. Republicans on the Intelligence panel argued that it was necessary, because it shed light on the origins of the Russia investigation, as well as potential abuses of power by federal law enforcement officials.

Democrats and the FBI, however, voiced concerns about the memo’s accuracy, contending that Republicans omitted key facts that would have placed the information in the proper context.

The push to release the memo was largely driven by Nunes, who has been accused by Democrats of trying to undermine and discredit special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling in order to protect Trump.

After reading the memo, I am ready to pimp-slap any Prog troll that attacks it as boon to Putin. No sensitive sources and methods were discussed. In fact, it does not attempt to refute the Russian collusion narrative at all. It does however lay out a case that top FBI and DoJ officials threw out the rule book in their investigation--and that they willfully deceived the FISC.

Wolf Blitzer can suck it.

We now know Hussein ordered illegal/unethical FBI/CIA/NSA intelligence gathering on Team Trump. Unmasking and distribution of the intelligence was done at the Hussein White House.

I hope Nunes stays strong.

“Democrats and the FBI, however, voiced concerns about the memo’s accuracy, contending that Republicans omitted key facts”

Actually, the working complaint by the Democrats WAS that releasing the memo would compromise ‘sources and methods’, thereby endangering people and future operations.

But once the memo was released, it was obvious that ‘sources and operations’ were not even close to being compromised. So the media went back in time and now they’re saying that the Democrat complaint had been omissions - in other words, rewriting history.

But the media can do this as they’re owned by the Left and protected by the First Amendment.

The Trump campaign did not collude with Russia to sway the election. But the Clinton campaign certainly colluded with the FBI to sway the election.

Rather than seeing the Nunes memo as the “tip of the iceberg,” the “iceberg” in fact is the Horowitz IG report, the guts of which have already been transmitted.

That’s why none have leaked via Ds. It’s ALL horrible for them.

Think of Nunes Memo and the State Memo that he alludes to as “bricks” on the side of a pyramid. When the whole IG report hits, I think we will be sick to our stomachs.

I think it will suggest Roberts was blackmailed; I think it will suggest Zero spied on EVERYONE for eight years. I think it will suggest that the Awans had deep penetration and either they, or associates, were/are blackmailing congressmen not to run.

(Think: why no Ds retiring early? Cuz while they represent at least HALF of those in the sex fund, they believed until very recently they would win the house in 18 and therefore still control the flow of information, and release of the IG info. As electorate perceptions change—i.e., that Rs may well ADD seats—I would expect many, many House Ds to suddenly want to “spend time with their families.”)

Note that his reply to the question isn't reported.

>> Democrats and the FBI, however, voiced concerns about the memo’s accuracy, contending that Republicans omitted key facts that would have placed the information in the proper context.

Here’s a few key facts I’ll bet they omitted....

1. John McCain’s involvement.
2. Hitlery’s name was conspicuously absent. It only mentioned the Clinton “campaign”.
3. State department involvement. John Kerry’s name was probably redacted.
4. 0vomit’s name, WH involvement.
5. Many other specific people.

I will bet the omissions left out anyone in a midlevel position who was not already “outed” because they are still useful deep state puppets who can be used against Trump. I will bet anyone who is politically sensitive (0vomit, Clinton, maybe foreigners in high positions (May?)) is not in the memo. I say Nunes left them out not to cover for them, but in order to be able to get the memo out in the public eye. Better to start the info drip sooner and get the rest out later. Comey was already compromised and had been removed from his job, so that’s why he made it into the memo. If he were still head of the FBI, his name would not have been in it.

... and one more thing...

Some people might not have been named because the Trump administration is watching them and doesn’t want to alert them to the fact that they’ve got the goods on them. I’m sure those people are already on guard and watching their backs, but there is no need to telegraph that fact to them. Remember that Trump has said on several occasions that he doesn’t intend to announce his strategy. So let them sweat and make more mistakes as they try to cover their tracks.

My goodness read the Yahoo News article.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/u-s-intel-officials-probe-ties-between-trump-adviser-and-kremlin-175046002.html

The questions about Page come amid mounting concerns within the U.S. intelligence community about Russian cyberattacks on the Democratic National Committee and state election databases in Arizona and Illinois. In a rare public talk this week, former undersecretary of defense for intelligence Mike Vickers said that the Russian cyberattacks constituted meddling in the U.S. election and were “beyond the pale.” Also, this week, two senior Democrats — Sen. Dianne Feinstein, ranking minority member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking minority member on the House Intelligence Committee — released a joint statement that went further then what U.S. officials had publicly said about the matter.

Can you say "coordination" and "team-player" when citing the professional qualifications of Feinstein and Schiff?

Perhaps, CIA-asset would also fit. /s

Anyone see Tucker Carlson last night? Some dem rep from California accused Tucker, on the air, of being a tool of Putin, and endangering national security for talking about the Nunes memo. It was unreal.

You should be on the news with that simple observation. Media lets the commentaries drift off key points too often. Designed deception to keep the uninformed that way
