In my experience, you are correct. Last time I was in Ireland, I was denounced because Bush was in the White House and instructed to go to the White House and tell him off on my return to the States (people from small European s***holes rarely have any idea of the scale of America). And those Irish-Americans who fethishize their "Irishness" and live in Irish-American ghettoes like Massachusetts are rarely any better.
