US embassy in Dublin under fire from disgruntled applicants, attorneys and politicians

The US embassy in Dublin is under fire and facing fierce questioning from Irish applicants, US-based immigration attorneys and Irish politicians over claims that embassy staff is making “rogue” decisions on visa petitions.

Cases heard by Irish Central in particular reference petitions made for E-2 investor visas and O-1 extraordinary ability visas, with one applicant even resolving to travel to another European embassy to have their O-1 petition processed. They did so on the advice of an immigration attorney concerned about the current manner in which their clients are being “aggressively” treated by the Dublin base.

“I have been speaking to multiple people and organizations about what has happened to me and I’m getting more and more feedback of how the Dublin Embassy is behaving outside the norm, acting completely rogue and denying people for no reason at all,” one rejected O-1 applicant told us. Their particular case had been approved by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) only to be turned down by an official in Dublin, leaving them “stunned and shocked” with the way in which their petition had been handled by the staff. […]

The lack of an ambassador from the Trump White House is also a factor. Irish leader Leo Vardakar is expected to ask for a speedy appointment of one when he travels to the US for St. Patrick’s Day. …

Some idiot probably thinks they have to treat the Irish like we should be treating Mexicans. Shame on them.

Ireland, the once-proud land of my ancestors,is among the many sh*thole countries I've visited in my travels.Yes,there are intelligent, skilled Irishmen even today but I have no doubt that the Embassy staff is doing a good job of keeping out losers and pretenders.

Wanna make sure that the Marxist IRA aren’t given the ability to come here.

I’m sure congressman King of NY who sent the IRA weapons wouldn’t mind, but the rest of us don’t need any more marxist b@$tards whether from Islamic countries, Mexico or Europe. Stay in your $h!tholes.

(2 of my great-grandparents came from Ireland I’m 1/4 Irish extraction).

The ones with trouble hare not the unskilled Irish. And the are going to other locations to get approved. Some of my relatives are from Ireland in the 1700s. Sooner see even the dumbest Irish person allowed in than anyone from Mexico. At least the Irish assimulate, they learn English, they don’t dumb down our country.

Since the article is vague, two opposite speculations arise:
Some leftist bureaucrat is doing this to make a statement about Trump’s ban on immigrants from certain Muslim terrorist zones; or,
The applicants being rejected are not actually Irish, but transients from the certain Muslim terrorist zones the Irish want to be rid of.
Other possibilities?

Vast majority of Irish already speak English as their native tongue.

All they have to do, is take an ICE van down McLean Avenue in Yonkers and just scoop ‘em up. Pete King is a scumbag!

Irish leader Leo Vardakar....

>
Looked him up. He became PM in 2015 and suffers from same-sex attraction disorder.

My Irish ancestors are spinning in their graves.

we were in Dublin on Embassy duty. Our AMBO was an old friend of GHWB, and i do mean old. He had no idea where he was or what was going on . His 2nd in command ran the place, and he was a flaming homo. Good times!

Two key points:

...petitions made for E-2 investor visas and O-1 extraordinary ability visas...The lack of an ambassador from the Trump White House...

In other words, the exact opposite of what Trump wants, merit based immigration, is what is being emphasized. You've got money to invest and skills? No thanks. "Asian" and on welfare? You're approved.

This would not apply to E-2 and O-1 visas. For an E-2, you have to put up at least $250K in cash, and for an O-1 you need to be a movie star or international athlete.

I’ve met Christian African immigrants who, working themselves up from the bottom, have contributed more to the USA than Marxist homosexuals from Ireland will ever contribute.

Notice the article does not disclose the names or if they are Irish citizens. In fact, it implied they are not Irish given they can go to another country to try and get a US Visa!

That might simply be a reflection of EU rules rather than a citizenship issue...

The other issue not being mentioned is that the Irish govt. is being flooded by applications for Irish passports by UK citizens who want to cover their work options after Brexit. Apparently if you can prove Irish heritage back a generation or two and pay some money (about $1000 IIRC) you can get an Irish passport issued to you.
