More like standard operating procedure. Some in congress will need protective custody just to get through the release of the memo. Hope Trump releases the memo (via EO or some other “oh no he din’t” mechanism) NOW for the safety of the survivors. Feinstein broke the rules re release to protect the swamp. Trump can break them to save the patriots from more “crashes”, right?
I don’t like the idea of all these members of Congress being exposed in a rural area. Seems to be a lot of first responders there.

This entire “retreat” thing drives me nuts.
Why politicians can’t discuss issues in DC and feel that they have to go to an expensive resort,along with their spouses,to do business makes no sense.

They were going to the Greenbriar - there is supposed to be a safe bunker underneath there - made for a shelter for Congress/President in the event of an emergency. They were probably going somewhere they wouldn’t be spied on.
That’s what I wondered too, why do we have to pay for it?
If they want to have a retreat and pay for it themselves, go for it.
How is it that we taxpayers have to pay for some such political retreat?
